You know, Leyland's gonna get most of the heat, and that's fine, but that's on Valverde, too. If you're one of the best closers in the game, go out and close the fucking game, no matter how many runs you're up. Jesus Christ, not every situation is gonna be the perfect, comfy situation that you're used to.

It's a mental thing with many closers though. They are just better with a tight score than they are at mop up.

I agree, Valverde should not struggle as bad as he does in those situations, though I will point out that it might only have been 1 run scored if we did not let A-roid and Grandy just have second base.
