DEEPER DISCUSSIONS.
Totally Tigers
This week, we saw the debut of the PitchCom wristbands in MLB.
The catcher wears a wristband with nine buttons that can call for a precise pitch and location. Both the pitcher and catcher have receivers in their cap/helmet for transmitting the info. Different languages can be programmed, too.
There are 9 pitch options. All the catcher has to do is push a button.
This new device was introduced (it is a voluntary option currently) in order to solve 2 concerns. Sign stealing, usually done when there is a runner on 2B ? and speeding up the game. No longer will the catcher and pitcher have to change their sign sequence and when runners get on base, the game will not grind to a halt.
As we saw with the White Sox series, there are still some kinks to work out.
What do you think of this new system? Is it good for baseball?
Today?s blog addresses this dilemma and allows readers to share their thoughts in more detail. And hopefully, to actively engage with others by responding to their posts and creating back-and-forth discussion threads. The more the merrier!
For this one blog only, you?ve got 6 sentences max to share your thoughts. Of course, you can respond to as many other readers as you want.
TT will supply the ammunition. One thought-provoking question. Several options provided. One hard choice to be selected. One vote.
