Tigers - angels Game Preview.

As you would expect, left-handed batters are hitting just .180 with 35 strikeouts in 113 plate appearances off C.J. Wilson. However, right-handed hitters aren’t much better, batting just .209 (67-for-321) off him. So while Quintin Berry gets the expected night off in favor of Ryan Raburn, who’s 4-for-7 off Wilson (including postseason), loading up on righties doesn’t guarantee success. Jhonny Peralta is just 2-for-19 with eight strikeouts against Wilson, for instance. Delmon Young was just 3-for-15 against Wilson before homering twice off him in last year’s ALCS.

Detroit Tigers' Ryan Raburn batting second against left-hander; Gerald Laird, Danny Worth in lineup.
Jim Leyland is loading his lineup with right-handed hitters for the game Wednesday night against left-hander C.J. Wilson and the Los Angeles Angels.
Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and batting second, while Gerald Laird and Danny Worth are also in the starting lineup.
Raburn is 4-for-7 with a double, two walks and one strikeout in his career against Wilson. Current Tigers players are hitting a combined .296 (24-for-81) with three home runs against Wilson, including at-bats in the postseason.
Wilson is 9-5 with a 2.43 ERA in his first season with the Angels after pitching seven seasons for the Texas Rangers.
Doug Fister (3-6, 4.39 ERA) will start for the Tigers. He is 1-3 with a 3.95 ERA in six career starts against the Angels.
