Tigers vs. angels Game Thread July 18

Fister with 28 pitches and 4 k's so far.

I didn't see the pitch that pujols hit, was it up?

Boesch hits it to the wall in left center and it sticks in the padding in the wall, somewhat round about route to the ball by trout,

Nice that wilson is having some control problems, Dan says that's the 6 Tigers batter to go 2 and 0,
make that 7 with Worth 2 and 0,

uh oh...bases loaded....the kiss of death...

yikes two poor ABs from Ajax today...

Get shutout by a guy that gave up close to 20 runs in his last couple starts and we tag 5 on Wilson in an inning and a third so far. I just don't get this offense. lol

i dont wanna think about it. that was one of the worst drafts by any team EVER. fuckin 7 relievers out of the first 10 picks...

Was honestly the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

Thankfully we got Avila out of it, and iirc Dirks as well.

Fielder's maturation into a pure hitter has been lovely to behold...

haha FU hunter, line drive single for Worth,

here we go, do they score,

Jackson having problems with wilson 0 and 2, he chases high,

so now mudhen batting second and everybody shutup because Leyland says so, lol,
grounder up the middle and FF aybar stops it but Worth is safe at second and Boesch scores,
That infield single was Raburn's second hit with the bases loaded (in 5 ABs), but just his first (in 12 ABs) in the No. 2 hole,

Tigers lead 2 - 1,

Cabrera up with the bases loaded grounds it foul, grounder to second and kendrick bobb;es it no play at second throws to first, and Laird scores,

Tigers lead 3 - 1,

Prince gets thrown at, bs on a breaking ball, fu scoscia/wilson/catcher, outside and low 2 and 1, fouled back, line drive single to center and Worth and Raburn score,

Tigers lead 5 - 1,

F'n A, and f face wilson pushing 50 pitches,

Young lines it foul down left, swings and misses, in the dirt, fly to center,

wilson with 51 pitches, esad,

Tigers lead 5 - 1.

Fielder's maturation into a pure hitter has been lovely to behold...

He was saying he learned from watching Cabrera and what Miguel told him, it's ok to get a single and go with a pitch in certain situations,

Fielder is now hitting .643 (9x14) with runners in scoring position this month -- entered today T-3rd in AL w/13 RBI in July.
Prince is on pace for .307-26-118 this season.

Angels' infield defense has not been impressive so far...has looked as bad as ours if not worse...

Fister dealing,

ffaybar flys to Boesch,

hester grounder to Cabrera,

trout flys to Boesch,

quick inning for Doug with 37 pitches,

Tigers lead 5 - 1, and we want More!!

KC...from earlier

"But yeah, that could happen, Ilitch is 83 or some where near and at that age every day is a gift. Do his adult kids do any functional baseball activities? Does the family plan on keeping the team after he goes? or will they sell to another Detroit Billionaire?"

From what I have read in the past his kids don't really have much interest in the sports side of his business.

His kids don't get the team when he passes, Marion does. And she's as big a Wings/Tiger fan as Mike.

Also, I have to believe his children would somewhat respect his wishes when it came to the team.
