The rant was about his lineups and being sick of explaining them every single game, basically. "I'm not going to talk about it anymore, I'm just going to post the lineup and you can read it".

Tigers are now 5-0 now on the nights I go out and playing MTG.... The guy at the store even mentioned it tonight.. As Bob was getting pummeled he yell's out "Bob the Tigers always win when your here", and I know he is not much of a sports fan...I always have to ask for the tv to be turned on.. Anyway Great work and one of the few plays i saw was freaking Rabun's dribbler single to short that plated a run.. Glad he was safe...

Magic The Gathering Card game... Richard Garfield is one wealthy man for developing this game.. Tonight's game was just a small 8 player limited booster draft... We pay $15 dollars and each get 3 packs of the new 2013 core set.... Everyone opens their pack and takes a card he wants then pass it to the left until the pack is gone. Second pack to the right and last to the left... After that you have around 20 minutes to build your deck and it has to be at least 40 cards.. Normally around 17 lands and 23 other cards give or take.
(Now in a standard format game it is at least 60 cards, and you can only have up to 4 copies of one card) But tonight was just a limited booster draft.. Then you play head to head best 2 out of 3 in a hour, and the top 4 get to win extra packs.. I think it was 8,6,4, and 2 tonight.. I have done it twice now since I have gotten back into the game after a 10 year hiatus, and have been pummeled on both nights.. Week ago i went 1-2, 1-1, and 0-2.. And thought my draft was ok.. Tonight I went.. 0-2, 1-1, and 0-2... Games range from 10-15 minutes to over a hour hour... Of the 8 of us tonight the ages were one kid around 13 with his 17 or 18 year old brother, and the rest in the early 20's, two 30+ guys, and old guy Bob.. i played the kid in the first match and he got out a plainswalker (very rare) on turn 3 both games and I was done by turn 6 or 7 in both games. My second match took and hour, and he won game one and I zapped him right at the end in game 2 when he made a mistake and did not leave a blocker...Last two games took an hour also but he beat me in both games... But the important thing is the tigers Won!!!!

I am equally tired of people bitching about the lineups. Look at yesterday...people were bitching about Raburn in the 2 hole and some were bitching about Boesch playing vs. Berry. Raburn went 1-3 with a walk, RBI and a run. Boesch went 2-3, 2RBI and a run scored.

This game was fun last night... took the kids and had a "guys night out." Fister was incredible after that HR to Pujols! It was good to see, and hopefully they keep it up!!

I am equally tired of people bitching about the lineups. Look at yesterday...people were bitching about Raburn in the 2 hole and some were bitching about Boesch playing vs. Berry. Raburn went 1-3 with a walk, RBI and a run. Boesch went 2-3, 2RBI and a run scored.

He had a ground ball stinker that he happened to beat out. I'll give him credit because he didn't strikeout. But it's not like he beat the crap outta the ball last night. We know he'll play from time to time but he shouldn't be in the 2 hole.

See - I knew it would happen - we have something in common besides being Tiger fans.

Maybe need to start a thread in gaming forum to go over stories of our best tournament decks? :*)

Well I am sure i am not as good as you are K... I just played pretty casual from
1998-2002ish when we live in Vegas and only went to 1 or 2 per-release... I mean I bought packs now and then in-between and read some articles but nothing serious until the last few months.. I am very much just a average player... But the two drafts i have don the last week even though I was 0-2-1 in both drafts (best 2 of 3) i did have a few epic matches.. That is what is so great about the game... No two games are alike hardly... Like I mentioned the kid smoked me in my first match because he got a
plains-walker out on turn three and that was that but my next match was a great one and he won games one in about 35 minutes, and our second games he was going to win at the time limit so he would win the match at 2-0 but he mad a critical error in not waiting one more turn... I was at 7 life and he was at 4 life and all i had was a 2-2 creature on the board with only one card in my hand... he attacked me down to 2 life but should have left on blocker... opps... I attacked with my 2-2 and then giant growthed it... for 4-4 and that was my only win of the night... I really hurt him though because we ended up as a 1-1 draw... Next match I lost 0-2 but both games were 30 minutes long.... Great game I am going to try a standard format tomorrow at a different place for $ 5 dollars.. Then i will see how far i am really behind other players....lol

Well, I may have been above average, but 1) above average in a tournament usually meant I was 4-20 for the day. So I got ya covered. 2) I usually found my decks mana poor, and would tweak them forever - this is because I would always try to mix two good ideas.

I used to love to read about Pro Bloom decks - ones that emphasized getting through your deck quickly, deciding the game in a few turns when all the needed cards were out. I used to play a Black and Blue deck that I liked but it depended on a couple cards that were later banned in standard tournaments.

Yeah Dark Ritual was the best black card ever made... My friend gave me this quickie fast black deck that can still win... in fact my daughters boyfriend only has beaten it once in five attempts.
Turn 1
Drop a swamp for 1 mana.
dirk ritual which adds 3 more swamps..

then drop the Hypnotic Spector ( You have a instant 2-2 flyer on turn 1 that will make him discard a card if it gets through for damage) And it will more then likely... turn 2 you will have a unholy strength for 1 mana and it will give your HS +2 +1 to make him a 4=3 attacking on your turn 2....



Or if you don't have the HS every other creature in the deck is 3 or less.. Throw in 4 Hymn of Tourach in your deck and you may have him cardless in a few turns... I know really advance players then or today could blow it away but in causal setting it is fun to play... Highest cost card is 4... Feast of the Unicorn. gives your creature +4 +0....

By the way Rancor was released again... One of the best green Uncommon card ever !!!!

BTW at the standard tomorrow if I go. i will be running a blue/black deck..... I just don't have really enough strong cards for standard but I may have enough to win a few games..
