Tigers vs. angels Game Thread July 18

His kids don't get the team when he passes, Marion does. And she's as big a Wings/Tiger fan as Mike.

hes as big a fan yeah, but last i heard she was really into running the casino and whatnot. dunno how that would affect the tigers. hopefully she'd just bankroll the team but not be as hands-on as mike.

Peralta swings at the first pitch and flys out to center, now 1 for 16 vs. wilson,

Boesch takes up and in, strike call, swings and misses, chases low,

Laird grounder to short,

too quick an inning wilson with 59/60 pitches,

Tigers lead 5 - 1.

Atanis has a record label back in Detroit, or something.

Atanis was always into theater and performing arts. He might have majored in theater at Michigan (maybe a double major in business, I don't know) then he went to grad school at USC. He did a few low budget movies, horror movies, I think - he has an imdb page.

I never knew of the other kids.

One of his daughters is a lawyer /business woman in the Detroit area. I think her name is Denise?

She'd have to give up the casino stuff if she were to own the Tigers.

I only ever knew Atanis; we went to Michigan together.

My girlfriend back when I was going to Michigan at the time was from the Detroit area. Her family was in the restaurant/food service business, and the two families knew each other, not sure exactly how well.

Fister dealing,

ffhunter second pitch was a f'n strike, what the F was the ump looking at, another strike, swings and misses a curve, f'n asshole trys to sell it as a foul ball, FU and sit down hunter,

pujols gets a free check swing 2 and 1, Fister getting squeezed here, walk,

dumbo up 1 and 1, ball gets away from Laird and pujols takes off the throw gets him at second and pujols is limping, dumbo swings and misses a slider, slider low full count, low for a walk,

morales goes down swinging,

Fister with 55 pitches and 6 k's,

Tigers lead 5 - 1.

Yankees, Tigers, Royals went to see Wandy Rodriguez today in SD,

Tigers 4th inning,

Worth 2 and 2, curve high full count, in the dirt for a walk,

Jackson takes inside strike call, another way inside, fouled back, grounder to short 6/4/3 dp,

now mudhen curve low strike call, another in the dirt, grounder to third bobbles it and still throws him out,

ffwilson with 72 pitches,

Tigers lead 5 - 1.

Fister dealing,

callaspo singles to center,

kendrick 2 and 2, now a full count, half swing strike three and runner going is out on the throw from Laird,

ffaybar 2 and 1, another bunt attempt is fouled, grounder to Fielder right at first,

Fister with 69 pitches and 7 k's,

Tigers lead 5 - 1.

I guess I would like to add someone with experience. Years of being good. As much as I love what Berry has done and Dirks was having a nice year before his injury, I'm not sure we can count on that continuing next season.

And really depends when Dirks comes back and how good he is. When one thinks about it Boesch has not really rebound to where he was before his thumb injury. However he has come to life the last 10 games going 13 for 35 =.371 a couple HR's,9RBI's. But how long will that last. But really a second baseman is needed that can hit and field, as Santiago needs to play short sometimes to spell Peralta. IMO that is Santiago's roll to fill in where/when needed.

how many times have teams pitched around a rh hitter to get a lefty lefty matchup vs fielder or boesch only to have them come up with a big hit. i can think of a bunch. hope these managers dont get the memo and keep doing that.

Tigers 5th inning,

Cabrera takes a curve inside, fastball fouled, drilled down the left field line is just foul, another fastball high and tight, takes time getting in the batters box, hard grounder up the middle single, I get the feeling that Cabrera was thinking wilson was throwing a bit too far in on him, the look at the ump, wilson, and his demeanor with pujols at first,

Fielder goes down swinging on a high changeup,

Young swings and misses, takes outside, in the dirt gets away and Cabrera gets to second easily, swings and misses low fastball 2 and 2, pop fly to shallow right,

pitching coach out to talk,

Peralta takes in the dirt, curve inside, ground foul towards the Tigers dugout, takes inside, check swing strike full count, way inside for a walk,

Boesch check swing on a low curve ball, line drive down the left field line and it's a 2 run double for Boesch, more 2 out rbi,

Tigers lead 7 - 1,

Laird takes inside, fastball ground foul, curve is fouled back, check swing low curve ball, grounder to short,

wilson with 99/100 pitches,

Tigers lead 7 - 1.

I guess I'm a going to go with Boesch has come to life, lately. And the Tigers better ride him while they can. 15 for 38 = .394 last 11 games. Get that second baseman and find a 5th starter.
