Tigers vs. angels Game Thread Sept. 8

Basically the same pitcher he was in 2010.

It's fucking baseball, this happens.

And Kluber was good enough to do the same, Chen shuts us out before that. your right.. it's fucking baseball and this is what happens when you have a shitty ass fucking offense.

It almost seems impossible to hit a ball into the gap against this Angels outfield.

And Johnny Perata swings and missing at a pitch high and away, why, because he fucking sucks that's why!!!!

It shouldn't happen every fucking night when your owner shells out ridiculous money to put together a "Super lineup"

And the Angels shelled out ridiculous money for Wilson and the rest of their pitching staff.

This Ump is calling 2 different games behind the plate. Blatant.

glad I'm not the only one watching that, JV gets squeezed sides and bottom,
wilson gets the corner expanded and the lower part of the zone.

Just let em all drop in jackson FFS dive damit it was two god damn feet in front of you!!!!

Hmm, in the last half hour, the ump called the last strike on Carlos Pena (Rays-Rangers) on a pitch that was 6 inches outside, with a runner on in extra innings. Pena would have been the tying run. In Yankees-Orioles, the 1st base ump called Teixera out sliding into first base for the final out, and he was clearly safe. A safe call would have tied the game. Don't say that bad calls don't lose games....

Incidentally, when Pena complained, the ump threw him out, even though the game was over. Umps need a good, strong dressing down from the commissioner, but he is far too weak to go after that.

In both cases each team had 9 full innings to do something, so when it comes down to the last out on a close play, yeah, they really can blame themselves more then the Umps.

People who expected this to be a super lineup were idiots.

There was no reason to expect us to perform better than we did last year.

It's amazing the excuses this team builds up. What will we say when we miss the playoffs? Oh we just ran into amazing pitchers every single day and the umps hated us?

I would kill for 3/4ths of last year right now. This team is no where near last year.

When he signed Prince, the only other player that could have been considered part of a "Super lineup" was Cabrera.

And two guys don't make a super lineup, which is why our offense is flat.

Rationale people understand that the Tigers will only be 2 games back with over 20 to go, including 4 against the team they're chasing. They know the Tigers control they're own destiny and haven't given up.

Including 4 on the road where the Tigers can't win a fucking game. Why is rational thinking that something completely different is going to happen in 20 games that didn't happen in 140? Sounds like insanity to me.

Last year was a 85-90 win team that over performed/got lucky.

This years team is a 85-90 win team playing to their talent level.

Maybe you're right. Maybe we just flatout suck and got lucky last year. I can accept that more than the people who pretend we are good right now when clearly we are not.

Rationale would be understanding the game of baseball.
