Tigers vs. athletics Game Thread Sept. 20

Well, I'm off to work. (Running late cause of the super Tigers.) I'll be sending the good vibes to us and a few bad vibes the twatsox way.

I bet Delmon would swing even if the pitcher only pretended to throw the ball.

I know he swings at almost anything I would rather a player do that vs leaving the bat sitting on their shoulder. I can't stand called 3rd strikes. If you are going to strike out go out swinging!

Even if it's 6ft off the plate in the dirt?

I thought I would be really hurt with us not making it but this team would have sucked in the playoffs. 150 games and 0 adjustments.

I'm thinking it's for the best making the playoff could make em believe they don't have major holes they need to address. They'll be very hungry next year.

Yeah. Major changes have to happen. The team is just not well constructed right now.

Looks like the bottom has fallen out of the tub, to quote the author of someone's signature on this board.

Smyly was probably not really prepared mentally to pitch today, since Leyland said publicly that he would avoid using him. He has generally had very good control. Just a general choke by this team. When you load the bases in the first inning, don't blow your chance to set the game up as a blow out. Too bad Delmon doesn't have any brains.

This team is just not good enough to go on a long streak. Only way we win the division is if White Sox have an incredible meltdown.
