Alex Avila returns to the starting lineup after Tuesday off, an interesting decision with Justin Verlander (whom Avila almost always catches) pitching tomorrow afternoon and Aaron Laffey proving particularly tough to left-handed hitters this year. Whether that’s a nod to Avila, who had a comfort level catching Sanchez during his first couple starts for Detroit is an interesting question. Avila is batting ninth.
Andy Dirks and Jeff Baker remain in the corner outfield spots, meaning another day out of the lineup for Brennan Boesch, who hasn’t played since a pinch-hitting appearance Saturday against the Orioles.

Laffey has been awful lately

Last 5 starts: 1-3, 28 IP, 31 H, 11 BB, 15 K, 8 HR, 7.39 ERA, .915 oppOPS, 1.50 WHIP

So has Sanchez

4 Starts as a Tiger: 1-3, 20.1 IP, 35 H, 8 BB, 11K, 5 HR, 7.97 ERA, 1.035 oppOPS, 2.11 WHIP

Should be a high scoring game

There was some talk in the post game last night about Sanchez and how they skipped a start for him while Jones and staff worked on some things, it was reported that they "think they have some things figured out"

We shall see

If I were them I'd say that too. It beats "We are going to send him out there with the same garbage he has been throwing".

But yeah we shall see, hopefully its Anibal and not Annabelle this time.

The guy we traded for him, Jacob Turner made his first start with the Marlins today, went 6 innings 4 hits, 3 ER's 5 k's no walks. No run support took the loss but not bad numbers really. Let's see if Sanchez can top that against the lousy lack luster Jays offense tonight.

Wow there goes that lefty mashing they traded for again.

Baker is making me miss Raburn...

Anyone here, or is the board having troubles again?

Not much to say I guess, just another typical lack luster offensive game, Laffey whom has been horrible latley hasn't get given up a hit through 3 and that Baker guy whom supposedly mashes LHP makes it 120 GIDP for the Tigers this year. Now 5 More than the nearest competitor. we're not going to the playoffs this year are we?

On a positive note Sanchez hasn't sucked yet tonight.

Edit: ops spoke too soon I guess back to back hard hit balls off him, gaaawd man we need some runs O stop letting this Laffey clown shut you down he ###### blows!

I see what it is now, Laffey is not over powering he throwing too damn slow, we can't handle these types for shit.

wow, nice hustle Omar!! When that left his bat I didn't think there was a chance at 3.

funny. infantes been here 3 weeks and hes already learned to ignore lamont

Omar turns on the jets...come on Miggy!

Sanchez has gotten his ERA down to 6.66. :O
