Damnit! I benched my man Delmon in my fantasy league! Love the big fly off Ubaldo though.

I had Delmon in an auto draft league, I cut him mid June.

when does the love affair with Young in the 3 hole fall apart.I liked the addition to the lineup, but what has he done to deserve it?

ok, now he has. lol

It will prolly end now that he is hitting well....lol

Enough arguing.. UBALDO IS GETTING BOMBED!!! 7-0!!!! HAHAHAHAHAH!!! I guess high velocity gets you NOWHERE sometimes... See Burnett, Ubaldo and Edwin Jackson..

Great Martinez with a 2 run homer near the foul pole,
Tigers lead 7 - 0.

Mitch]Any of you in Michigan getting a storm? Just knocked out my TV.

Nothing on the West side so far.

KalineCountry]Cabrera taking 3 and 0, and walks,

so that's what I missed last inning, Porcello threw behind acabrera,
anything precipitate that? or just a pitch that got away from him?

Well he hit a homerun distance foul just before, but seemed like he was just trying to come inside hard.

Every pitch after that and after the warnings issued was still inside, and got his GB out.

oh man victor with a 2-run shot! 7-0 Tigers. the fact that we are shelling ubaldo makes it even better!!!

WOW. I didn't realize the game started already! Ubaldo is our MVP!

Ubaldo looks like he's following other former Colorado pitchers.. There was an article that showed evidence that when a starter is traded from Colorado, they are never the same again.. Then again, Ubaldo has only been decent for 1 1/2 years..

when we passed on UJ and got DF instead I was pleased because he didnt have to make the transition to the AL...I am very pleased we passed on him

touching on porcello's velocity...scouts made it sound as if Rick was regularly touching 95 on the gun in HS...granted that is HS and he could get by throwing smoke.

I'm sure someone developed Rick into a more finesse guy which would allow him to get more movement...I'm sure he can dial back and throw 95 but I'm guessing that would be with far less movement.

just my theory.
I'm not saying he's Verlander #2, but when a H.S pitcher is highly regarded, you don't expect them to get by on a 89-92 mph fastball.. People thought his potential would be reached around 92-94 mph..

I don't disagree with that at all....I'm guessing they've found in side sessions Rick can't throw that hard and get enough movement out of it....I'm sure he was more than capable of throwing 95 with location versus HS hitters but they quickly found his stuff wasn't good enough at that speed. At no point in the majors was rick regularly throwing 94 mph. Obviously they ironed that out pretty early. You could argue with more tinkering in the minors he could've added a few mph with movement I guess.

I agree with that. i think he was drafted with the thought that he would fill out a little and add a couple mph.

And the beautiful thing if this lead holds up......the move to pitch JV against the Rays just might pay off. Finally, things are going the Tigers way in August.

I drafted him originally but cut him around the same time. As soon as they said the Tigers were gonna hit him in front of Cabrera I snagged him of the WW

looking at the radar looks like the game may catch some rain but prob like a 40 minute delay or so.....but I'm no weatherman lol

This is huge. Well, it actually started last night when the offense taxed their bullpen. They've got 4 games in the next 3 days too.
