Sanchez, meanwhile, has quietly strung together four consecutive quality starts. I say "quietly," because Sanchez is just 1-2 in those starts thanks to the offense scoring a total of seven runs in those four games. His 1.69 ERA and 15 strikeouts (compared to just 3 walks) are the kind of numbers that the Tigers front office envisioned when trading away Jacob Turner.
If you're one of the lucky 12 people that can actually see this game, Mario Impemba and Tom Verducci will be on the call. Everyone else? Have fun with Buck and McCarver.
If a game is played but you can't watch it due to archaic broadcasting blackout rules, did it really happen?
The last time the Detroit Tigers faced Justin Masterson, manager Jim Leyland left Delmon Young out of the starting lineup.
He did the same thing this time around.
Quintin Berry will start in left field and bat eighth for the Tigers this afternoon in the second game of a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians. Brennan Boesch is the designated hitter and will bat fifth.
Young is hitting .150 (3-for-20) with five strikeouts for his career against Masterson (11-13, 4.96 ERA). Berry is 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk and an RBI.
Masterson is 2-1 with a 5.29 ERA in three starts against the Tigers this season. Miguel Cabrera is hitting .440 (11-for-25) with two home runs in his career against Masterson, while Prince Fielder is 4-for-9 (.444) with a home run.
Anibal Sanchez (2-5, 4.40 ERA) will start for the Tigers. He is 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA in three career starts against the Indians. All three of those starts have been in the 2012 season.

and Peralta is like 1 for 12 vs. masterson, should he sit for Kelly who is 6 for 17?? just sayin'.
Some of us around the country won't be able to watch this game on tv, due to FuckFoxSports and their monopoly on Saturday games 1 to 7PM.
