indians radio announcer tom hamilton's theory: tigers KNEW avila missed 3rd...berry get himself thrown out intentionally...interesting.

Theory was spot on. Avila's run from last inning erased because he missed 3rd base. Putout goes 1-5. Now a 4-0 game after 5 innings.

Mario and his broadcast partner have no idea the run was removed...they haven't mentioned it. They are still trying to figure out what Berry was doing.

Now they just got it but they said the scoreboard in the stadium still shows 5-0.

Told the score is 4-0. Alex Avila run did not count. Throw to third did not get Berry stealing, was an appeal that Avila didn't touch third.

So it's not actually a CS for Berry because it was just an appeal play to tag 3rd, making Avila the one called out....

He didn't, out dugout picked up the Indians chattering about it and the Tigers sent him to purposely get thrown out and end the innings before an appeal could be made.

Problem was it was already too late, the Umpires knew.

Tigers knew, in the dugout, wanted him to go there to get the out before an appeal, guess because chisenhall was on the bag it counted as the appeal/throw.
