Tigers vs. indians Game Thread Sept. 16

The Lions better win tonight too or tomorrow is going to be a hell of a hangover.

Wow.

I was worried that Kelly had broken his neck, running and jumping into the wall trying to make that play.

There were WAAAAY more fuck ups on routine plays that contributed to the loss today than Don Kelly, running and jumping and throwing his head and his neck up into the wall trying to make that catch.

Whether the ball hit his glove before his fucking head or his neck or his back or whatever part of his body slammed at full speed into the wall, or not...

I can't see that happening, but hey everybody in the div will be 1-1 vikings lost to the Andrew Luck colts

Lions 3-1 before their bye. IMO.. the 1 comes tonight.

that's true, lots of fucked up plays during the game,

I honestly thought Kelly was knocked out when he slammed into the wall, but he got up and threw the ball in, put off the inevitable for a minute.

Our finish this year:

3 at home against Minny
4 at home against KC
3 @ Minny
3 @ KC

Chicago's finish:

3 @ LA
3 at home against Cleveland
4 @ home against Tampa
3 @ Cleveland

LA and Tampa will still be fighting for their lives. We need to actually clean up against our bottom dwellers. We'll be in it even if we fall a few games back...and we'll have no one to blame but ourselves if we don't get into the playoffs.

Glad Kelly is ok and he made a great effort on the ball but it hit his glove before he hit the wall... He needs to make that catch.. Not sure why JV was throwing that good of pitch to Santana... Make him chase pitches and set up a force if need be even if you do walk him...
Like someone said...This year has been a jungle fuck except a few players.. Poor defense all season.. Poor hitting with the sacks full or especially with runners on third and less then ONE FUCKING OUT. Poor bullpen management. Poor pitch selection when our pitchers are ahead of the count 0-1 or 1-2.. Umpires all over the league fucking us.To many hack hitters who don't like to grind. Did I mention very poor defense.. The schedule sets up ok but the Tigers need a 8-2 or a 9-1 stretch like right now...

Well, I didn't say it because everyone was ranting, but I think even if Kelly made that catch the runner would have tagged up and scored from second by the time Kelly recovers and throw the ball back in.

So it still would have been a tie game with 1 out, the only difference being Santana not stand on 3rd as the winning run.

It was an all or nothing play to hold on to the lead, and I can't fault him for trying.

As I said, the top of the 9th was where we lost this game. Simply no excuse for the 3 and 4 hitters not getting that man in from 3rd.

Kelly needed to catch that ball, sure it would have been a better than average catch, but it's a catch big leaguers make on a daily basis.Kelly should have been left in Toledo.

Did anyone hear Leyland or Lloyd at the post game presser, if anyone of the media asked why Kelly in RF and not Avi Garcia? or where the f'k is Al Al???

I agree he should have made that grab. It hit him in the damn glove.. He has to hold on to it... There is a reason he looks like a little leaguer on most plays.. Better then all of us but way worse then a decent MLB player..

Jim has to be let go if we fail to make the playoffs... And DD needs to be put on notice also.. His shit signings has left our defense barren at all spots except a few..

Win or lose, I think he's going to retire. I could be wrong.

Yup C.... But the tiger games really hurts if it ends up costing us the playoffs..

The thing is who do we bring in if Leyland is let go or Retires? Francona?
