Tigers vs. indians Game Thread September 5

fister is looking great with 8 strikeouts through 6. he might end up being to best deadline pick-up this season in all of baseball. sure glad we didn't give up the farm for jimenez...

Yeah, I was terrified that we would try to get Jimenez, especially since the Rockies weren't allowing the full physical to be performed or whatever. He had pitched well with the Rockies after his rough start of the season, and maybe he will end up being the ace that the Indians thought they were getting, but he seems to be a little off or something. I know some people mentioned that they thought he might just need the full off season to recover, but I don't think he will ever be what he was at the start of last year.

Going after a player that was kind of under the radar, in Fister, seems to be a great play by DD.

And obviously it is easier to say all of this since we have been able to see the short term results.

I like the Fister trade because he was an AL pitcher, not an NL pitcher. You never know what you're going to get.

Yeah, that is another reason I was a little scared with Jimenez. A little more stability with the staying in the same league.

And I am really happy I picked up Fister right when the Tigers traded for him

anyone know fister's career high for strikeouts? he is now at 9! i didn't think he was a strikeout pitcher

Good Grief!

10 K's for a guy who is not a strikeout pitcher!

Talk about feeding off a big win.

I don't know his career high off the top of my head, but iirc he was a 5.4 k/9 guy.

And Fister just set new career high with his 10th K. Just 85 pitches thru 7th. #Tigers take 3-1 lead into 8th.

Could not be happier with this Fister trade. I wish Wells all the best but the Tigers needed a 2/3 starter.

I almost wish the old ESPN boards were still up so I could rub this in Mikenbig's face.

Wouldn't be worth it, he'd never admit he's wrong. We all know he's a douche and that's what counts.

Haha, very true

There you go Bob's Dad's little buddy!

Lead off double!

He has such pin-point control. Darn near every hitter looking at an 0-2 count. The guy just nails the catchers mitt continually. He is proof that you do not need to throw 95+ to get it done in the Show. Location and movement are crucial.
