Tigers vs. mets Spring Training March 14

Nice stab by Miggy!!

I think that he will be fine @ 3B, much to the chagrin of our division rivals and esp their fans...haha!!

Just spotted this...
Call the middle of the Tigers lineup NASA, because they going to be launching things into orbit all season long.

HAHA, thats a good one. Looks like they already have their celebratory handshake going too.

Yeah, saw that on Prince's homerun replay...he used to have one with Braun and the brewers throwing right and left hooks, ducking underneath each.

ChucKy ChecKswing...gets an RBI on an Ex2 by the Mets' 3B.

Yeah I've seen Prince and Brauns plenty of times, so I figured Cabrera and Prince would have something planned.

Mets IFers fucking it up moar...haha!!

Tying run scores on a WP.

Love what I'm hearing about Cabrera at 3rd, the guy is a great athlete, if he keeps working it would not surprise me to see him become a good 3rd baseman, never a GG candidate, but better than the league average there.

new mets pitcher james,

Young hustles down the line on a grounder to second,

Berry 1 and 1, ump calling strikes inside on the inside corner to lefty batters, draws a walk,

does he try to steal,

Santiago batting right, strike call, outside, throw to first almost gets away from first baseman, inside and Berry is stealing second and he is safe good jump, pop up to second,

Inge watches the knee high strike, takes low, grounder to third is booted and thrown away to first as Berry scores and Inge takes second, 2 errors for thirdbaseman,

Tigers trail 4 - 3,

Cabrera takes low, takes inside, curve inside, high for a walk, Miggy gets pitched around, pinch runner Ciriaco for Cabrera,

Fielder check swing low, takes low, strike call, grounder behind second fielded and flip is off the bag everybody safe,

Fielder is pinch run for by Head,

Young takes low skips away and Inge scores, runners second and third, strike call, lined foul, outside, line drive single to right and Young drives in 2 runs, Young removed for pinch runner Patterson,

Tigers lead 6 - 4,

tie game,

Avila waits throw to first, takes low, high, fastball outside, high for a walk,

Laird slider inside, fastball high, strike call, lets a fastball go by strike call, mr. pop up,

Tigers leading after 5 innings 6 - 4.

Crosby pitching the 6th, Holaday catching,

Leyland visited mound and gave skipper-grade lecture to Casey Crosby, who, no shock, began to throw more strikes. It's a Leyland trademark.

drops down sidearm for a nice strike call, another for a swing and miss, curve stays up and in, chases a 4 seam moving left to right,

Picture in picture with Cabrera and Fielder interviewed by Doug Glanville, Nice.

Crosby throwing strikes now 0 and 2, change is low, curve fly to right,

fly to center and Berry lets it drop in sun or wind messed it up, double or E8,

Hoffman pitching,

next mets batter gets hit in the leg,

and a walk, bases loaded,

Jeff Jones out to talk,

grounder to Ciriaco throws to first inning over,

Tigers lead 6 - 5.

shitt...Berry's error is costly, snug 6-5 and may be even moreso as bases are loaded...whew, groundout gets them out of it.

Tigers batting 6th inning,

Young drops a bunt down third but is thrown out,

Berry ball, swinging strike, fly ball,

Santiago lines out to second,

Tigers lead 6 - 5.

Tigers minor leaguer Bruce Rondon was a late addition to the squad, and bullpen showed him stretching out, wonder if he pitches today.

Hoffman pitching 7th inning,

fly to shallow right in a triangle with rf'er, 1B, and Inge takes it,

grounder to Santiago,

Villarreal warming up,

line drive single to left cut off on one hop,

Hoffman ball, throws to first, strike call, fastball in, called strike on the corner, swings and misses,

Tigers lead 6 - 5.

Tigers 7th inning,

Inge foul pops to second baseman, good one cringey,

Ciriaco takes high, strike, takes low, broken bat one hopper to second,

Head takes low, check swing foul, outside corner fouled down right, chases low dropped and throw to first,

Tigers lead 6 - 5.

Kinda rather thin on posts in this game-thread from other members this afternoon, probably it is b/c of it being a "workday" ballgame, and during ST, and then will pickup once the regular season begins, with most Tigers' ballgames being instead played in the evenings on weekdays. "April in tha D", wonder what, if any new accompanied jingle will be used by FSN?

Rondon out, Villarreal in...hey ESPN announcers, how about mentioning it? AL/NL East...yadda...yadda..yadda...color me unsurprised.

::)
