Tigers vs. nationals Spring Training March 18

Below out, Ortega in to pitch the bottom 7th for the Tigers.

Below 'might have made' this a 2 man race for last spot in the rotation.
2 innings 3 runs 5 hits 1 walk 3 k's.

This all-world 19 year old phenom bryce harper just got the golden sombrero 4 strikeouts.
he might and probably will become an excellent ballplayer, there is just 'something' about him as a very young rookie that I don't like, whether it is how he comments in interviews, or from last year watching some game he was in and how as he ran down the first base line purposely stepped on the first baseman's ankle...that has stuck in my craw as a 'bush' play.

after giving up a single Ortega gets out of the jam w/ a K swinging, flyout, and groundout.

This game is what it is a spring training outting. Runs,Hits, and Bench players all game long.
Really thoe with 16 runs on the board only 6 pitchers have been in the game so far. As I type Washington brings in a new arm.

Karma, it can be a bitch, Harper, should he noticeably keep that kinda BS stuff up, he might just get drilled w/ a pitch.

Yeah, I thought the very same when I saw that play, especially trying that shyt in the major leagues.

Schlereth pitching in the 8th,

single and a balk....Schlereth gets out of the inning,

Tigers lead 10 - 6.

Dixon Machado an All-World defensive shortstop in the Tigers minor leagues triples in the 9th,

Clete with an rbi single,

Tigers lead 11 - 6,

Looks like a somewhat difficult choice Dirks/Clete, even with our opinions on each.

ex-Yankee and uber-geeky-looking RP/CL Tyler K-lippards the first 2 Tigers, but gives up a3-bagger to Tigers' SS Machado. CLETE!! drives him in w/ an RBI single..11-6 Tigs!!

Clete is fresh out of options..no?

Bring Dirks up first, if so.

Clete is out of options, so if they bring Dirks, they will in all likelihood lose Clete to a team looking for a 4th outfielder, jmo.

My mistake then, thought that the Tigers could assign him to the minors after ST, w/o possibly losing him.

Mitch[/color]]A best new nickname "'mo belly Laird" - lol. Thanks KC.

you're welcome, just a typical name used at p.o. along with Michelin Man.
or Wide Load.

Uncle Jumbo used to get this guy Paul nicknamed the 'big splash' he was 6' and 300 pounds, any ways we see him at a union meeting and he had a dress shirt on, Jumbo says "nice shirt, what did it cost"?
Paul says "25 bucks",
Jumbo responds, " $5 for the shirt, $20 for the stomach".
you had to be there...

Tigers beat the nationals 11 - 7.
