Tigers vs. redsox Game Thread May 31

Don Kelly got a hit? Holy shit!

Danny Worth too? Jesus!

Rally time!

Nice steal, no GIDP possible now...hit into the air Brennan.

One pitch is a ball and the next is a strike and both are almost in the same spot. Nice...

Lamont needs to be our designated arguer, that way he can get tossed on a more frequent basis. It's a win-win.

Except Lamont is so blind he would have no idea what he's arguing about.

I think the ump at first is the one that made that terrible call in the Twins playoff game. At least he looks like he is.

It was Welke who made that all I believe.

The one who fucked up the strike 3 call on Aviles in the first game.

Come on Max, the scrubs just started a rally and got you the lead....pitch like it.

Damn he's infuriating.

Found this on another forum:

"Basic rule of ALL umpires and referees, call what you see but SEE what you call. If Welke wasn't 100% certain, he should have kept his big mouth shut. Since his brother incurred Leyland's wrath after making an equally horrible no-call on a bunt that hit a Texas Ranger batter (which then also lead to the scoring of the winning run against the Tigers) I have to believe Welke thought this would be a good chance to get some revenge on Leyland. This kind of crap has been happening more and more in MLB because umpires like Joe West and Bob Davidson think the universe revolves around them. Time for MLB to go to instant replay and quit using the excuse that it takes the human element out of the game. The human element isn't so sacrosanct that it should cause the Tigers to lose a chance to be in the playoffs (2009) when the four blind umps didn't see Brandon Inge get hit with a pitch that would have driven in the winning run in game 163 vs. Minnesota and when Jim Joyce totally botched the final call in what should have been Armando Galarraga's perfect game in 2010. This is just pathetic."

I got a feeling we don't see Avila for a week or so. May have broken his nose too.
