OK somebody please explain to me why Infante simply didn't just execute a normal and regular 4-6-3 DP in the breakopen inning for the Twins....?

Because I sure as shit can't figure out why not...

So I think maybe I'll just blame it on the fucking umpire...

The runner at 3rd still would have scored in this case. They wouldn't have been able to double him up the regular 4-6-3 way....too fast It wasn't a dumb play. They would have and should have gotten the double play if they could execute a rundown.

Or...why didn't Infante...instead of checking a runner back to a base the runner was literally forced out from anyway...simply get into the base path, and tag the runner out...and then flip to first or just run and make the unassisted double play on his own.

It was literally the stupidest play I've ever seen a major league player try to make in all the major league plays that I've seen.
