Tigers vs. White Sox August 20, 2020 Game 23

Worse team by far last season. A couple former Twins weren't going to change that.

Tigers team OBP was second to last in MLB after yesterday's game, and it isn't gonna get any better today from the looks of things. They are only 11th in strikeouts, but most teams have played 3 more games above them.

Has tiger brass ever worried about obp recently.. the team just cant draft and develop hitters.. hopefully soon. But then we draft them and our coaches ruin them. Ruin there confidence. Ext,ect, ect..

Tigers w/RISP...can Candy erase their goosegg again?

nope...but first and third for Jones w/one out.

Jones 'Ks swinging...up to Meegwell.

He taps gently to short...ugh.

Jones coming back to earth.

Miggy just seems to want it over. I bet he smiles on paycheck day though. Man he is just a shadow of his former self. May as well play him at first.. see if it helps his hitting.

Just my opinion all the tigers should be looking for in a hitter is obs and how many pitches a guy sees out side the power spots. Find guys who dont strike out as much. Hell idk.

Yeah Shep, Tigers were @ zero Rdiff when they began this extended losing streak.
Now its @ -34.

Gotime was right we score 4 or 5 runs a few times in this losing streak. We had terrible starting pitching it seems at the start of this season. Still do unless youngster can help.
Well it was fun for a week or two.

The Tigers today announced that RHP Buck Farmer has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Farmer had been sidelined since August 10 with a left groin strain.
In a corresponding move, RHP Carson Fulmer has been designated for assignment.

Tigers lose 9-zip their 9th loss in a row, 3rd consecutive series loss and sweep...awesome!!

Next up..a weekend series @ CLE...I can see this nosedive being @ 12 by next Monday.

With today's big fat L, they fall into the ALCD cellar, pct. points behind the idle Royals.

Al has constructed a terrible team. Who do we get for JD, who did we get for jv. Who did we get for Max ? Who ? Did he trade Boyd when he could? Nope.

Hindsight being everything, the Tigers could have gotten a huge haul, had they traded both JV and Miggy instead of extending them.

But hey...we will have 2 more HoFers @ least (Sweet Lou?) when all is said and done.

Indians>Cubs>Twins>Brewers...oh my!!

How many Ws will come out of that?

These past few years have been the worst for Detroit pro sports ever, while other cities have had more than one championship (Wash DC, Boston) or contenders in two or more sports. The pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for the Red Wings and Pistons, ending their shitty and horrible seasons early. The Lions went from bad to worse, as did the Tigers, having lost the second-most games in franchise history last year, with the pandemic greatly shortening this season, very likely preventing another 100+ losses. This season ALSO will mark the officially longest championship drought in Tigers franchise history of 36 years, barring a miracle. The woeful Lions franchise just continue to ADD to theirs @ 62 years and counting....sheesh!!

Speaks volumes that the very same loser Lions, are who likely have the best chance of the 4 to contend over this and the next couple years...that is...if this season is even actually played through.
