Tigers vs. whitesox Game Thread July 21

Raburn goes 1-5 and bumps his average to .172. lmao
don't worry Sparky, he'll run into one later or sooner

These are the types of games that keep my hope alive for Porcello..he has the potential to be a very solid pitcher, but has always been incredibly inconsistent. He is a very young pitcher still and if we traded him in a package I would want something substantial in return.

Yeah, it is crazy to think that he is still only 23 years old.

The crazy stat they mentioned yesterday was when Justin Verlander was 23, he had a grand total of 6 MLB starts under his belt.

That's how fast Porcello was rushed up. Who knows what he might have been with another season or two in the minors to develop his secondary stuff.

I've never been one to think more minor league seasoning helps. Lots of stars do well at an early age. Some do, some don't -- not sure it matters much.

I think you could have saved this for when he wasn't throwing a gem.

Save what? He's not a good pitcher. What proof do you need?

And for his "gem" he just threw. It was a mirage. That's why when/if the Tigers make the playoffs, you'll see Porcello in the bullpen where he belongs. The Tigers are linked to a few starting pitchers come trade deadline. This organization does not want to see Porcello as our #4.

Could you wait until he stunk it up. What do you expect from us after he throws a beautiful game? We are excited after that start.

Wait for what? Hey, i love that he threw a beautiful game. I love that he got the win. I root for the kid when he goes out there. I'm just keeping it real.

Do you want him in the rotation come playoffs? Tell me you do, please....

Not the point, playoffs anyway. And contrary to what Max has done they both have a very similar year and numbers are almost identical, of course not counting k's or anything.

Sure it's the point.

And i would take Max over Porcello in a heartbeat if it was a 7th game of the series. You?

But has one been that much better than the other during the entire 2012 season? They have both had their nice spots, both been inconsistent etc. I would take Max btw but why the hate for a younger guy and not for the other?

Max has been a trainwreck as well!! And it's not hate. It's reality..lol. Why is it always hate when someone criticizes another player?

I just feel in a crunchtime situation, Max would be the better option.

I'm petrified that Porcello may have to be a starter come playoffs. For the record...
