Tigers vs. yankees Game Thread April 7

An offense with the names it has in the lineup should never be shutout I don't who is pitching it should not happen

Trying to lay a goosegg this afternoon, huh Tigers?

3 more outs left, and they may have.

It would nice if MLB would put in a new rule that when Phil Coke enters a game you just automatically add 3 runs and move on to the next half inning. It would really speed up the game.

I don't mind not getting the sweep, but damnit getting shutout is disappointing.

We stunk it up today and Toronto lost 13-0 to Boston. Both teams should be nice and pissed off for the game on Tuesday.

Dotel into pitch.

Nix singles.

Gardner singles. 1st and 3rd. (I blinked and missed what happened on Gardner's at bat)

Infield in...Cano grounds to short and Ramon can only go to 1st base w/ the infield in. Runner holds at 3rd...safe at 2nd.

Youk rifles a single into left. 7-0. Not a good showing today for the Tigers.

Boesch into hit for the pinch runner Nunez (came in for Hafner). BB gets himself into a full count and pops out to Omar.

Wells walks.

Ichiro flies out to Tui.

31 pitches for Dotel that inning.

Mariano into pitch for the work...only trip to Detroit this year. Mariano was also presented with a placque by the Tigers before the game. Leyland presented it to him.

Pena batting left handed grounds out to 2nd.

Omar bloops one into right for a single.

Ramon bloops a single just over Cano's head.

AJ works the count full and flies out to deep right center at the front of the track. Nice play by Gardner...thought that might have a chance to find the gap.

Hunter fouls off the 1st two pitches and then K's check swinging on the next pitch.

We lose 7-0. Off day tomorrow. Toronto on Tuesday. Sanchez on the mound. 3-3 on the year.

Cmon Austin, get an RBI single or double here, so the Tigers won't get SHO at least. Meh...but he moved the runner to 3rd...up to Torii now...he Ks, bah!!

7-zip and yanx fans can breathe a bit easier today.

Mario just corrected it....they were shut out 3 times last year.

Yeah, I was gonna say....I thought maybe you meant not shutout by the Yankees in 235 regular season meetings or something.

Well 3-3 after the first week. I was expecting 4-2, but it coulda been worse I guess. Pretty sour way to finish the week though.

Out of the three games the Tigers played in this series, this was the one that I thought that the Tigers were gonna be least likely to lose with our ace Verly on the mound, and the yanx "ace" tubathia being slapped around giving up 4 runs & 8 hits in 5 IP by the blowsux @ home in his first start of the season...oh well.

Minnesota in 1st place at 4-2...possibly alone if the White Sox don't win. The rest of us would be 3-3.
