Tigers vs. yankees Game Thread June 2

I was at the game tonight and those two HR MC hit were monster shots. When he put the second one into the camera deck that was just amazing.

Don Kellys catch was huge too.

Great game and great win, lets get the one tomorrow now.

and that RBI total is out of the 3-hole too. imagine what he could do 4th with more runners on ahead of him.

You do understand that we'd probably have a weak 3 hole hitter and there would be less guys on.

On National TV no less. He's been knocking the cover off the ball for several games now.

I like to think it was my tweet to Miguel on May 31 when espn came out with that story about top franchise players and I sent the link to him....lol.

@ogundameyi24 http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2...anchise-around ESPN: Tigers' Miguel Cabrera not in top 28 players to build franchise around. Show them Miguel.

I was at the game last night, the first HR was the longest one I've ever seen at CoPa, probably longer than one David Ortiz hit a couple years ago to right center. His second HR last night was amazing, I bet when combined they were two of the longest ever hit in tandem in one game.

What Cabrera did tonight was legendary. Hits a 466 foot bomb, then he makes a base running mistake and you can just tell he's really pissed about it, he gets up again and makes amends with a 444 foot bomb. Just unreal, 910 feet on the pair of homers and his double was on a rope to left center too. On National TV too.

Anyone else notice that he's back to having the confidence to pick that front foot up before he swings now? He's on pace for .323, 134 RBIs, and 34 HRs.

The amazing thing about the distance on both of those homers...neither one was a fastball. It's not like he crushed 2 shots because he squared up on a couple of 99 mph pitches.

Saturday's 2 HR game for Miggy was his third multi-HR game vs. NYY, the 8th Tigers hitter in modern era to post 3 or more.
The others were: Norm Cash, Cecil Fielder, Hank Greenberg, Charlie Maxwell, Dick McAuliffe, Vic Wertz and Rudy York.

Pretty solid company, huh?
