Paea and Williams make a good combo of pass and run defense. If someone offers Fairely a big contract, those two would be a good plan. Either one plus Fairley and Mosley would be a good recovery. It's no Suh, but that ship has sailed.

Paea is headed for Washington, so he's out.

Why not flip balt. our 5th rounder for Ngata and extend him?

I'd be down with that, except for the fact that if we move to a 3-4, which is why we would want Ngata, we need those picks to be able to draft the defensive ends to make the move at all.

In the end though, we won't get a player anywhere near as good as Ngata with a 5th rounder, so I'd love it, unless we can't extend him and then we just ate our cap room up with a guy leaving after one year.

Seeing as we have the Austin/Caldwell connection with him..would we really need to switch?

Lions are still trying to resign Nick Fairley.

Same guy is also reporting he has not been able to verify Fairley has even talked to the Colts. Says they may have, but no one is telling him that.

Bleacher Report... always full of shit.

I'm gonna lose it if the Lions give Fairley a stupid-large contract. Reeks of desperation and too much of a risk coming off an injury (and prior work ethnic concerns).

I like Fairley, but only at a reasonable price (and probably a short contract).

Clint Boling signed back with the Bengals. Looks to me we are addressing the Oline through the draft. I don't see significant upgrades available now through FA.
