Might as well start this thread now with teams ready to improve, with others looking to trade for prospects.

Seattle Mariners interested in Detroit Tigers' Mathew Boyd, per report.

Boyd is one of the Tigers' most coveted players in trade talks, and he still could be dealt this year.

M's interested, but Boyd not distracted by trade rumor.

Trading a 27 year old they better get something really good.

I like Boyd but I think if you can get some good prospects for him you should pull the trigger.

Why Detroit Tigers should be aggressive this trade deadline season.

Not selling would just keep Tigers stuck in mediocrity.

The Mariners are interested in trading for Matthew Boyd.
Boyd should draw a good deal of interest, but it will be tough to motivate the Tigers to deal the lefty.

I don't see the point in trading him for prospects, which by definition is just someone who might be good. We already know Boyd is, though opinions vary.

The Tigers are in full rebuild mode. Their farm system is still pretty weak, although much better today than at this time last year. They need to build from the ground up, which means getting as many good prospects as they can.

Boyd has been good this year, but for the right package I would ship him off. Same with Fulmer and Nick...but those would have to be really good packages (especially for Fulmer).

I would like to see them trade Liriano, Green, and Iggy.

Build by trading older, more expensive players. Not a 27 year old cheapo who is in his arb years. Why not trade Nick, Fulmer too.. If you're going to trade guys trade Green, Wilson, Hardy, Martin..

I think Green, Wilson, and Martin may get traded.

You try to trade older expensive players first (like they did last year) but they don't have any that are tradeable. The reason you trade a guy like Boyd, Fulmer or Nick is they have value. You will get a good return on guys that are young, cheap and controllable.

I wouldn't trade all three of them but I would be fine if they traded one of them for the right return.

But the problem trading good young players is you might get younger not so good players. For every Candy there is you get 20 pieces of shit.

Yea I don't agree with trading any of Boyd, Castellanos or Fullmer.

Greene is probably their best bet to get a little something for

Maybe Liriano if he can get going again

IMO this is probably our list of guys that would have any trade value what so ever that would make sense under the whole rebuilding path

Wilson, Martin, Iggy, Greene, Liriano, Coleman, Fiers

Everyone not named Candelario or Jimenez should be considered, especially Boyd. However, there are only a few that we could trade that could possibly net us anything more than low level prospects. Buyers would be playoff bound teams looking to solidify their rosters. Fulmer is about the only player we have that is worth anything and would garner something in return.

I would think a team that thinks they have a 2-4 year window of being annual contenders & is at or near the luxury tax threshold would give up a ton for a pitcher like Fulmer.

Yes they would, but knucklehead would settle for Mike Pelfrey in return. It isn't what another team might give up, it's that we have a dufus in control.

It would be nice if we could find a way to get a couple top 100(prospects) position players to go with our 5 top 100(prospects) pitchers we have. If that means dealing Boyd and/or Fulmer so be it.
