Dodgers Interested In Michael Fulmer.
MLBTR

Dodgers pursuing Michael Fulmer.
Detroit Tigers‘ starting pitcher Michael Fulmer is reportedly a trade target of the Los Angeles Dodgers. According to SB Nation’s MLB Daily Dish, the Dodgers have doubled-down in their trade deadline pursuits. In addition to pursuing Fulmer, the Dodgers are looking to pry Manny Machado away from the Orioles.

This season seems to have gone by fast.. I know he has struggled a bit but we better get back a fair share.

get a couple of their absolute top prospects I say go for it.

After todays game;
Tigers optioned Warwick Saupold to AAA Toledo.
Before Thursdays game the Tigers will bring up Ronnie Rodriguez from AAA Toledo.
and select Victor Alcantara to the ML roster to clear the spot Dixon Machado has been DFA'ed.

Tigers announce they've designated infielder Dixon Machado for assignment. Machado had lost playing time to Niko Goodrum at second base over the last several weeks.
Dixon Machado has been in Tigers system for nearly a decade since he signed as a teenager out of Venezuela.
He's a good guy who everyone in the organization wanted to see succeed when he finally got a chance to play every day this year.
Unfortunately, just hasn't worked out.

I really hope a team comes to the Tigers with a mega deal for Fulmer. A team like NYY or the Dodgers would be a perfect fit for him. Both teams have good farm systems and both are up against the luxury tax threshold. Put Fulmer on one of those teams and they could pursue Machado or Harper next offseason.

Would have been nice if he was pitching better..

I don't get the trading Nick. I hope they don't. He's only 26. Eventually when whoever we get plays at the ML level, Candy will be 26 so we trade him, & Jimenez and eventually we're in perpetual rebuild mode. Always trading someone when they reach 26.

Usually around the time/age a player is reaching free agency. So if they do this month/next or following year, well that's one thing, to build up the farm system with good young players and through the draft,

but if it's a year in year out, then you know that Chris Ilitch is nothing like Mr. Ilitch, and Chris is a billionaire cheapskate pos.

Time will tell.

Mr. I would never trade a 26 year old hitter like Nick..

Look at the Orioles trading Machado.. their highest prospect they got back was 84th best. Guys like that you hardly ever get true value back..

Orioles got hosed in that deal, sounds like a deal Avila would have done.

The Orioles came out fine in that deal. Machado is a couple month rental.

Possibly but if there is a team who goes from rental to long term team it's the Dodgers. Nonetheless, the Orioles got zip.

Rankings aside, 4 of the 5 are bonafide prospects and all 4 would be in the Top 10 if they were in the Tiger system. Way better haul then what we got for J.D. (another 2 month rental) and definitely better haul than what we got for Verlander (who wasn't a 2 month rental).
