Trade Rumors Castellanos to Cubs, Greene to Braves - signs with the Reds now Phillies

So over the past week or two I've seen links to Atlanta for Greene, Boyd and Castellanos at different times. Now Markakis is hurt so they really are looking for an outfielder. They have a strong minor league right now so I'd offer all 3 of them to them. Might be the best shot we have to get a few high end prospects back.

Atlanta just got their RP from Texas.

Latest On Matthew Boyd.

The asking price for Tigers closer Shane Greene is ?far more reasonable? than the requests for other high-end relievers around the league.
Pirates? Felipe Vazquez, the Reds? Raisel Iglesias, the Mets? Edwin Diaz and the Padres? Kirby Yates as relievers who would be much harder to acquire, which isn?t surprising.

Detroit Tigers: Why this trade deadline could make or break Al Avila?s career.
MCBTB

He is going to take flack no matter what. Nick really doesn't have much value so whatever he gets in return won't be enough in many minds. Green is tricky. There are a lot of better options out there but he does have one more year on his contract. His history isn't great though.

I think AA is in a no win situation with what he has to trade.

I think the only thing that "makes his career" with these three guys is if he gets lucky with one player in return for Nick or Green and Boyd pitches really good from now to next year's deadline and he gets a really good return for him next year at this time. That's a lot of ifs

We lose Nick regardless so I'll be okay if we don't get a whole bunch for him. If the plan is to bring Mize and one other SP prospect up next season keeping Boyd won't be all that bad. Not sure what the market is for Green. With our future closer shitting the bed, keeping Green less than ideal but I can't stomach Ramirez next season.

Nicks value was last year when Avila failed to get a deal done because he overvalued him. Which I feel is what he's doing again with Greene and Boyd this year.

Toms right about the fact Avila will be blamed regardless. Can't win. Ask for less you get less .. I'll take Boyd for 3 years over a prospect who is less talented for 6 years.

I don't think Nick ever had much value due to his defense.
