Trade Rumors Castellanos to Cubs, Greene to Braves - signs with the Reds now Phillies

Fans were angry with the Avila Extension.
Fan may approach going into a tirade, after Avila gets done trading the likes of Jimenez, Castellanos, Greene and Boyd for little in-return.

Little Al's greatest weakness is return value in major league trades. He really needed to add a long-time, experienced assistant GM, instead of the rookie, know-nothing David Chadd.

The two downfalls that may get Avila fired in the next two years, are Chadd's lack of brains and Avila's heavy-hand reliance on Baseball Analytics. One cannot manage a team or a game, based on numbers 0 thru 9.

If Analytics / Sabermetrics were the best answers, Bill James would either have Dombrowski's job today, or Bill would be Commisioner of MLB today.

Are the Tigers considering trading Jimenez? The article does not say.

Not sure where you are getting your information, but Avila is the opposite of what you said concerning analytics. The Tigers are one of the worst teams in baseball at deploying and using analytics.

Additionally, the current teams topping out in baseball standings and minor league development are also, not surprising, the best when it comes to analytics. While sabermetrics and analytics are both very similar, analytics is a very general term that simply refers to the analysis of data in any field whereas sabermetrics are baseball specific analytics. Thus sabermetics are analytics but not all analytics are sabermetrics. Bill James is just known for sabermetrics.

rumors are that the Dodgers are interested in Boyd and Green. Typically you can get "more" by trading guys separately. But in this case, I think you might be better off packaging them both and try to get one high quality player. I understand the Dodgers have a great farm system. Maybe they have a high end bat they could give up?

Not sure who needs top closer's but Green should be a hot commodity and Boyd has control.. We should get something nice. At least I hope.
