Training Camp News

You are dumb for using history then. Look at the 2015 roster. Each year is a new year. This roster is stacked. The coaches are good. Year 2 of the systems. Going to be another great season. 11 wins+

What are you basing stacked on?
Since you can use no prior knowledge, you can only assume every team will go 8-8.
There is no way to possibly know if this Calvin Johnson guy is any better than this Kris Durrham guy on Oakland.

Their talent levels. Dubs is using Millen history and ignoring 11-5.

Well, if you consider last year a great season, I can't help you. It was really nice. Lions were a HUGE benefactor of playing a bunch of crap teams, basically all of their wins were against teams under .500 or at .500. For someone who "apparently" looks at all the game film, you'd see that.

Only in Detroit do we consider last year a "great season." A great season for most franchises is winning a playoff game or two and winning the division.

Lions schedule was tougher last year than it is this year.

Denver at home, not at Pats. SD/KC equivalent to Buf/Mia. Raiders easier than Jets.

Rams and 49ers are garbage. We get Saints again. Panthers better than their record last year. Loss to Carolina, loss to Seattle. We get Arizona at home this year.

Eagles and Giants a wash. We'll crush both.

We own the Bears,Vikings and Packers at Ford Field.

We get to add another year to the banner baby.

James Harrison would makes us fold up and return the banners until we earn a real one. He wouldn't be wrong.

Bobby Layne curse is still upon us. He fooled us, 2011 - and has been laughing at us since.

I just want some playoff wins, is that too much to ask for? For crying out loud..

No, its not.

However, if you became a Lions fan and are expecting playoff wins... you're the idiot. That's like marrying Momma June and expecting her to look like Emmanuelle Chiriqu?.

The funny part about that whole pass interference thing is that there was still another 8 minutes left in that game and it happened on the 30. Everyone just assumes we would have marched down and punched it in and ran away with the game.

The funny part is you missed all the obvious holding in the last Cowboys TD drive. The Cowboys should never have been up. We truly stopped them.

It wasn't just the non PI call. Also they missed an offside by Dallas on the Lions last drive. 4th down where we fumbled never should have even happened. We would have had a first down earlier.

Lions clearly won that game. Waddle, Warford, Swanson, Mathis, Tulloch, Fairley, Lawson hurt. That is all it took for Dallas to beat us. We were the better team even without all those players.

We matched up incredibly well with Seattle with our run D. Still do. And we would destroy Green Bay too in the rubber match. Refs were idiots Week 17 too with holding and the block in the back allowed on Hyde TD return.

Nah, the Lions did what they do best. Crumble when the pressure got high.

Bad calls happen both ways, part of the game. Losers complain, winners deal with it.

NFL tells Dallas Cowboys they missed 7 penalty calls against Detroit Lions

I hate the Cowboys...

It all started in a body cast on that cold day after Christmas in 1970. Lions were held to a 168 total yards in a 5-0 lose.. Lions had already crushed the 49er's a few weeks back 28-7.. Cowboys won the NFC title game verses them 17-10.. I know we would have beaten them and maybe the Colts in the Superbowl who only beat the Boy's 16-13 with a straight ahead kicker... darn it all.. Hate the Cowboys ever since...
This is our year.. Time to deliver the title back to Detroit!!!!

Are we still seriously talking about this Dallas game? The truth of the matter is the Lions lost that game because of many of the same problems that plagued them in the regular season. Inconsistent offense. Once they were up 14-0 they eased off the gas pedal. They went all conservative on both sides of the ball, and it cost them. If they'd done so, a bad officiating call in the 4th quarter would have been rendered moot. Martin's shanked punt didn't help matters either. This is forgetting the fact that they could have had a home playoff game if they hadn't forgotten how to kick field goals for over half the season. The Lions did what they do...put themselves in a bad position and it cost them. And hey, it saved us from watching them get rolled over in Seattle the next game...
