Well that?s probably the last time we see Ivey . Damn close out and he twisted his ankle.
He looked great till that asshole closed him out.

Jorge Sedano, whom I?m I?ve come to listen to on the radio, is going there early in the upcoming week.

I will be looking forward to hearing what he has to say.

Of course Ivey gets injured in game 2. Hopefully just a minor rolled ankle.

I made a thread for the game . I?m pissed . Detroit can?t seem to get any luck with players.

It happens a lot but the fragrant foul not giving Ivey space is not very common.

how is that bad luck? He rolled an ankle, it's a very common thing in basketball

The player defending should have know better. There is a reason
There is a new rule on close outs. It lessens the chance of a twisted
Ankel. This could been avoided. It's a dirty play. I think named after
A player who played for Golden State. Yeah its bad luck .
Cade and Stewart and now Ivey all hurt early in thier detroit careers.
Hopefully it's minor and not bad.

it's not bad luck. You can call it a dirty play, an unnecessary play, or whatever you want. But it has nothing to do with bad luck.

It's probably even unfair to call the play dirty. There's no real indication that Todd was intentionally trying to get in Ivey's face, or even that he's known for skirting the line in terms of making risky choices. He just kinda sucks (by NBA standards). Three inches shorter on his closeout (which was lackluster to begin with), and there's not even a foul. This is a guy who probably never makes it in the NBA, doing something stupid way more than malicious.

Not that it changes anything for Ivey. It still sucks. I just don't want to paint Isaiah Todd as a bad guy, more a bad player.

It was a foul, a fragrant one at that. It wasn't intentional but it was a foul. As far as Todd, make this as a teaching moment.

There is a gray area here. The nba is making is known that they want the close outs to stop. Maybe it wasn?t intentional. Still I?m sure these rules where gone over. It sucks it was our player because we had injuries to young guys last season. So in effect it was bad luck again for the Pistons. Maybe Todd didn?t know or maybe he did and ignored the rule. Idk.

I just watched the play on ESPN. Lackluster is a good word to describe the defensive effort. Ivey actually kicked his right leg forward when he was on his way down. I don't think it was the Defender's fault at all.

Olden days it?s fine. You can?t put your feet even close to a jump shooter anymore.
Ivey does have to learn how to control his Legs. He had a highlight 3 off the first summer league game because he was looking for a foul with his legs.
Nba has out lawed both. Defender and leg kick out by offensive player.
