I agree that he needs to replace a couple guys, but today they had a good gameplan and their qb played illinois back into the game. The only thing I didn't like was so many first down pass plays in the 2nd half. Collins was rolling

youre trying too hard to make the case against lewerke. blaming him for this loss is insane. sure the pick 6 was a bad throw but the kid returned it SEVENTY SIX yards for the td - that takes pretty much all 11 guys to allow that. The 2nd int was tipped twice but theybstill had to gon80 yards on in 32 seconds. in total, their offense scored 4 TDs on 53, 75, 81 and 91 yard drives. they gave up a 4th and 16 and then 18 yards on a screen from the 19 yard line tonset up the go ahead TD.

Lewerke had a bad game but its simply moronic to say this loss was on him. Our pass defense gave up 369 yards and 3 TDs to Illinois, gotta be Lewerke's fault! I believe that was Peters' first 300 yard game. I'm surprised you haven't blamed him for Izzo playing Hoiberg for 5 meaningless seconds?

This loss was a team effort and by far the biggest contributor, once again was our dog shit defensive backfield.

They didn't even run as play in the red zone until the 4th quarter. The defense was pretty damn good for most of this game. Can't say the same for lewerke even though the line kept him amazingly clean for the entire game. The guy just isn't accurate with the football.

LOLOLOLOL - they scored from outside the red zone 3 times, including an 80 yard drive in 30 seconds - news flash football genius, that's not good defense.

let me ask you this- if instead of scoring on those big plays, they ran out of bounds inside the red zone and then scored would you still thinK the defense played pretty darn good and the TDs were Lewerke's fault?

by the way Lewerke was 14 of 22 (64% for football geniuses who may struggle with math) with a TD and 2 picks one of which wasnt his fault, in the first half. so his 1st half was just about as good as the defense's. at half time, he was the only player even talked about by Meyer and others. and while he didnt play well, he probably had a better 2nd half than the defense.
