Vs Illinois

You start with the small matters you can control and build on them. Perles brought the block ?S? to the mix in 1983. That was a good look. They should bring them back and stick with them.

that was my era - plain left side of the helmet, block "S" on the right side in more of a kelley green. not sure if it was true, but back in the day i was told we had to remove the Spartan helmet because USC won a copyright infringement case against us. Seemed like BS at the time and obviously it's back so it seems more likely it was an administrative choice.

i like the current darker green unis and the logo helmets with the tapered broad stripe - plain and unmistakable.
they need to pick one and stick with it.

as for changing what we can control - if it helps, i say nix those unis mid season but I'd like to see Dantonio exercise control by cleaning house with a major staff overhaul first thing after Thanksgiving weekend.

I do not think Dantonio has the energy to lead a B1G program anymore. I think he needs to step down. And I am not confident that MD can attract quality assistants.

The AD has already said his job isn't in jeopardy - he's getting $4.3mm a year to put garbage on the field, he'd be crazy to walk away from that. Unless he just doesn't care about the money, I think we're stuck with him for another year. He's under contract through 2024 now, but I think there would be real heat on the AD if he does this again next year.

Based on the hiring of Bollman and the subsequent shuffling of assistants, I'm not sure he is a good evaluator of assistant quality anymore. In the four years since the B1G championship, MSU has been bad - even in the 10 win season, they didn't look like a good team. they looked like a team that could have been as bad as 7-5 if a few balls bounced a different way. Kind of like 2012 ND.

If MD steps down, I don't think MSU can attract an elite coach - way too hard to recruit with in-state and lots of regional competition in what I think is a challenged region, thanks in large part to the Democrats, but let's not get into that here.

For that reason, I'd say a Narduzzi type of guy would be our best shot. I doubt Luke Fickell would consider the job, but I'd probably rather have him than Narduzzi - he was one of OSU's most successful recruiters and he's doing pretty well at Cinci which has been a stepping stone position, but obviously a step down for him. I'm not necessarily advocating for either one of those guys, but that's the caliber of coach I think we'd be in the running for. Which most likely means we'd be building teams with a base of 2nd and third tier recruits w/ a couple elite kids sprinkled in here and there and and hoping to get them to outperform their rankings. I haven't liked that strategy under Dantonio and don't think our chances would be much better with anyone else, but something has to give.

Now go try to find 1 little detail I might be off on and use it as your whole case

oops, looks like I found a couple more details...

Can't say the same for lewerke even though the line kept him amazingly clean for the entire game. The guy just isn't accurate with the football.

actually michturd found this one - he posted this over on the uofm board (link). Thanks turd.

Apparently he "got his bell rung" just before the 2nd half pick. Here's a picture of the "amazingly clean" Lewerke. Maybe he was sliding up and down the sidelines between possessions to make it look like he was playing hard...

Why do you cherry pick so bad. They had ONE td the first 3 quarters dipshit. That's what my whole post was about. Things fell apart in the 4th when your little brother kept giving them the ball back and fucking us

the average starting field position for the last 3 Illinois TD drives was their own 27, their own 25 counting the TD the defense gifted them before the half. Doesn't sound like Lewerke was "fucking us." If I have a little brother here, it's you except I never let you get the lead - I've just been pimp slapping you from the beginning.

Are you seriously using Lewerke running the ball and taking a hit on an option keeper as a shot against how the line pass blocked for him in that game???? Holy shit I'm dying here lol

Just stop already

lol, as if that was the only hit he took all night to end up looking like that.

you accuse me of me of focusing on "one little detail" when all you have is one bad throw for a pick six to base your ridiculous claim on. youre ignoring a litany of evidence that clearly shows the defense bears 90% of the blame for that outcome then accuse me of basing my argument on one play. you are too funny.
