Mitch[/color]]Just by stats alone, he seems a better 2B than anywhere else.

What stats?

He's only played 24 games at 2B.

Only 28 at 3B too.

Will be interesting to see which on they put him at, or if they would have him rotate between the two based on matchups.

Yeah what's your point? I didn't say it was a huge sample size but he didn't suck there.

No point at all.

Was a legitimate question.

Fair enough. I just get a bit giddy when I know Inge might get replaced or Santiago/Raburn 2B tandem.

Same, I could live with one of Inge and the Raburn/Santiago platoon in the INF, especially if we're able to add a starter or Cespedes.

Getting a huge upgrade like Murphy at one of them would be fantastic.

Raburn is far better than Delmon Young, not that Raburn isn't horrible, it's just he's not Delmon Young horrible.

DY gets overhyped because he was a #1 overall pick, and because of one high RBI year, in which be hit behind Mauer and Morneau who were top 10 all season in BA. and OBP iirc.

People also forget that as hyped as DY is, the Twins, who were hurting really bad for players at the time, gave him away (to a division rival) for a nobody. That alone should tell you something about what the Twins thought of him.

Delmon Young hurts a team more than he helps it.

I've gotta think Inge goes first. Santiago just reupped for two years, I believe, and those two add a lot more versatility than Inge does. I think the bench is Kelly for 3B/OF, Raburn for corner OF/2B, Santiago for 2B/SS, and Laird for C.

If we sign him I don't know. They love Inge and think he's the greatest 3B ever.

I'm wondering if we might make a run at Wright now. The Mets gotta be thinking of doing a full on rebuild after trading K-Rod and Beltran, losing out on Reyes, and Santana missing last year with shoulder surgery.

Worth asking the Mets about.

I hate getting so excited for the Winter meetings every year and forget that the first day doesn't bring much for us.

Astros telling teams they would pay half of C Lee, B Myers contracts, but won't pay any of Wandy contract.

Alderson said Mets will not trade David Wright.

Buehrle has strong market. Multiple offers for 3 yrs. First team to 4 years "may get him".

Myers would make a decent back of the rotation starter for around $5.5mil (half of his $11mil salary), but he's a righty.

Lee is still too pricey at around $9.5mil (half of his $19mil salary).

The Astros are telling teams that they'd be willing to pay half of the salaries for Carlos Lee or Brett Myers if they were to trade them, tweets Danny Knobler of CBS Sports. However, the team doesn't want to eat any salary in a potential Wandy Rodriguez deal.
Lee is owed $18.5MM in 2012, and the Astros may have to pay more than half of that figure if they hope to move him. While Myers' $11MM salary is more managable, it includes a $3MM buyout on his $10MM 2013 club option. Rodriguez is set to earn $23MM over the next two seasons, but his 2014 club option would turn into a player option if he's dealt, meaning the team acquiring him could be on the hook for another $13MM in '14.

Maybe this is the off season Raburn gets dealt..... Dirks and Raburn to the Mets for Murphy

the Mets have a multi-player trade in the works, MLB Network's Jon Heyman. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports describes the deal as a "change of scenery" trade both ways, and says the Mets are going to receive two players in exchange for one.

Sounds like a David Wright trade. Maybe Daniel Murphy?

Giants trade proposal believed to be Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez to the Mets for Angel Pagan. Not definite, but promising.
