Xanders interviewing for Dolphins GM opening

LOL. Mayhew gets full credit for that. Xanders had a database to get him better info and faster but it was obviously Mayhew's call still. Xanders is basically a scout. You need good scouts too but Mayhew makes the decisioins and gets the most credit.

So he gives him a database, he scouts players and Mayhew takes those players. And yet it's all Mayhew? Yeah okay..

There is no quote. Mayhew is not working under Xanders.

Here's the quote that I believe Mitch is referring to:

"I'd be honored to have worked for him," Mayhew said. "That would be awesome for him. He's from Florida, so to have an opportunity to get closer to home, I know he'd appreciate that."

IMO, Mayhew was speaking for the Dolphins when he said that, in essence claiming that anyone in their organization "would or should" be honored to work for Xanders if he became their GM. Mayhew might have been slightly misquoted, or was speaking as if he was instead a lower-ranked office-holder in the Dolphins' FO.

Yes, and I also realized it was probably a misquote etc.
