Young and broyles

And with the same oline we'll have the same problem. We need a G, RT, move last years pick to LT and get a S and two CB's with the first 5 picks.

Have you watched games this year?? Our O-line has played well most of the time. Could we use some upgrades.....sure. Who couldn't? But even as it stands, we have had MULTIPLE opportunites for our backs to make big plays......they just don't have big play ability.

Though he played a great game today, I get tired of watching Joique Bell catching the ball in WIDE OPEN spaces only to run into the nearest defender for the shortest possible gain. Or breaking a run into the secondary only to get tackled by the first man. The chances are there RIGHT NOW....we just don't have a back with the ability to make big plays.

Barner could do that. He certainly isn't an every down kind of back, but a combo of him and Leshoure would be fuckin deadly.

Listen, it's easy to say our offense is better than our D so lets go all D in the next draft. But a homerun threat in the backfield would help this offense MORE than almost any single player is going to help our D.

Do we need CB? Yeah. A Safety? HELL YES.

But we need a RB too.

Period. End of story.

RB can be had late. And why get a Best cone without injury history? Even with Best when healthy he was good at times and not so good at other times. We don't have the speed an OL needs to have to benefit someone like that.

Or maybe I shouldn't have posted since it was "End of story."

eh around here the term end of story usually means 5 more pages at least.

Odly enough the Nate injury may in ways be a good thing. Broyles has shown why we drafted him. He catches everything and may be the best route runner on the team.

Now as far as our running game. I dont think Best was ever drafted to be an every down back. He was drafted to be a threat out of the backfield and really be a third down back. Which when healthy he did very very well. He did lead all rookies in yards his rookie year. I dont hate the pick because they had a vision and they took the chance. It looks bad now because it blew up in their face. I like what we have seen from Leshoure he has really added a threat of a running game we have never had before. We will never have the dominate running game some of you want we are not built that way and the rules in the NFL have changed to benefit passing games.

Lions are running more efficiently sans the 49ers(with Smith mainly) and Vikings(LeShoure mainly) games. They don't have a big play back though with LeShoure and Bell. No plays over 20 yards rushing. They pass protect pretty well too and can grind out yards in the 4th. With our passing game it should be enough. We'll see what they can do against Minnesota Round 2 who is tough to run on. We need a good rushing effort the next two weeks.

Not as tough the last few weeks. Stephens howling gashed them for 125.

Reiff threw some nice blocks Sunday as the extra tackle....The fans were getting pissed in JVille everytime they annouce No. 71 is eligible..lol.

Yeah I saw he played I think 31 snaps it was. I like that they are getting use out of him while still letting him develop along the way.

Talking about having a good year, Sims. He's been excellent.

Haven't heard his name more than once or twice this year.....which is REALLY good for an OL.

I have a feeling Jared Allen is going to be making the announcers say Jaff Backus and Gosder Cherilus quite a few times Sunday.

What ever side Allen is on we should put Reiff. I have a feeling we have just started to here that #71 is eligible and in time they may actually throw him the ball.

I rather just let him be a LT or block on the oline. I don't really want him catching the ball.

in the red zone near the goal line I would let him realese into the endzone, but not in the field of play where he can get tackled.

Reiff is athletic as hell...he is really opening up holes for our running game

I wonder if we set a record for how many times we had a tackle eligible. I have expected the ref to say look enough of this crap #71 is eligible the rest of the damn game.
