Lol i never said he was a savior. I still think hes a hot head heap of trash. Im not a flip flopper lol. Id trade him in a second for a starting calibur safety or cb....same thing ive said all year. Haven't liked the pick since the second he was drafted.

We used a 2nd on Delmas, 3rd on Spievey, 3rd on Bentley(who has been injured), traded for Houston(2nd round pick by Atlanta) which has worked out very well. Plenty of high picks. Chris Cook(always hurt), Patrick Robinson, Janoris Jenkins doesn't save this secondary right now. And Bentley needs time to develop.

2011 there weren't good corners in the 2nd round left. And Jahvid Best was needed to make the playoffs last year. His monster game against the Bears was needed, we lose that game, Bears make the playoffs. Lions took a risk and it burned them long term but no so much short term.

I have very little complaints about Silva in the 2 games he has played or Florence(other than the one special teams play) and even Jonte Green other than about 2 plays (PI last week and mistackle on Hester).

Spievey was a high pick for a safety. You are complaining about not using high picks on the secondary but they did. Chris Cook or Patrick Robinson over Best does not fix anything. And with Burlesons injury I'm glad the Lions have Broyles over character issues Jenkins. I don't exactly see the Rams lighting things up on defense.

They used high picks with Delmas, Spievey and Bentley. Unforunately only one worked out so far and Bentley is really still TBD along with Green and Greenwood. Houston has worked out very well. Green has played well but still TBD, Florence played well and Silva has played well but still TBD. Plus we need consistent Dline pressure.

We gave up a 4th for Whitehead who still could pan out. You are complaining about not using 1st and 2nds for CBs not 4ths. Same with the Best trade other than the opportunity cost of taking oft injured girlfriend hitting Chris Cook, swapped 4th round picks, didn't even lose a pick other than a 7th. And with LeShoure it was an extra 2nd, using our 3rd and 4th round pick. 2011 there were no good corners left with 2nd round grades.

I think it boils down to developing talent. When no one in recent memory has exceeded expectations.....maybe developing talent is an issue? That or our scouts just suck....
