i wish they both had guns, went to the club, and shot each other. i was just using talib as an example of someone in the secondary that was on the market. Not that i wanted him neccesarily. although id pobably take him over titus if it meant an extension.

Nobody gives up starters unless they have real issues. And the 2011 draft didn't have any starters in Round 2-3 at CB.

ive always hated round 3 cbs. even rd 2 theres a good chance they dont turn out to be anything. The real problem is we dont address it during FA either...or trades. Then what happens?....you start fucking Wendling for 4 games lol. I dont care how you look at it....MM's team hasnt done a very good job at developing talent, filling holes in the secondary, or scouting character guys. Titus is just one example of a guy with character flaws.

Free agency corners are expensive and the Lions don't have the cap for that because they wanted Avril, Backus, Hill and Tulloch back and went out and signed Tulloch, Durant, Houston back in 2011. Houston is going to be damn expensive to keep. Jonathan Joseph, Brandon Carr, Courtland Finnegan, the Lions couldn't afford unless they let Avril walk.

Lions secondary isn't as bad as they seem. 8th in yards, but need to work on the picks. Consistent Dline pressure is the real issue. Lions pressure Wilson, Locker or Alex Smith more they don't have good days. Lions did well in all the other games because they got more pressure. If Delmas played I don't think Locker or Smith have good days.

MM could have had Avril for 6-8 mil the previous year. But he fucked that up too....Avril held out cause he was bitter cause MM didnt hold up to his word. AKA....MM fucked himself on that one and the team paid for it. We would have been able to afford a cb just fine if the deal got done sooner.

They didn't have the cap room the previous year because of the old CBA. They had to bolster the LB core which they did with Tulloch, Durant and get Houston back. And were lucky to get them because of the lockout.

To say we don't develop corners is wrong. Houston has developed as a Lion into a good corner, the other times we went low tier free agent with Jonathan Wade, Wright and now Lacey. Green,Bentley,Greenwood were finally drafted and need time to develop. You can't judge them now. And we've been struck by injuries as well. To say those 3 won't develop is just wrong right now.

My point on all this changed when Nate was injured.....cause our TWO 2nd round WRs that were sitting on the bench most of the game are now actually playing. Like i said previous....if they are actually being used and producing then i have no problem with them being on the team. But if they were just going to continue to collect dust on the bench then i saw no issues in looking to move Titus....youd be stupid not to try to get some value for him especially with Broyles on the roster and holes all over the secondary. If you guys dont see how thatd make any sense than i should just stop debating this all together....some people just dont get it.

i wasnt saying just cbs....i was saying ANYONE in general lol. Someone mentioned Hill....Willie Young may be one other guy. Yay...we developed 2 guys that are situational rotation players -.- But for the most part no one we draft really turns into anything more than what we expect.

Its not really about the Titus punch. Call it what you want, butch, heartless etc but the point I think others are making, its nothing like what Talib has done.

But injuries doesn't make Best or Delmas bad picks. Back in the day, we had Reggie Brown who looked like a sure fire stud, but because he had a career ending injury on a freak accident doesn't mean it was a bad pick.

I somewhat agree mitch. But the fact you use high round picks on rb, rb, wr, wr is retarded. The 2 rb additions haven't helped our run game. The 2 wr picks hardly have helped our pass game. Our defense and oline still have glaring holes that other teams exploit.

It's the way they roll, best available. Don't like it much myself. But we've been wanting secondary help year after year and I don't think it will ever come.

I'm half expecting QB next season or another DT. I hope next years draft is all DB and OL.

We will take a RB in the first 3 rounds......that is almost certain. My choice is Barner....Best-like abilities without the concussion history.

We need a DE and S via high round draft pick. A starting cb via FA hopefully. Backus is still playing well....can start Reiff at RT until Backus retires. Id say center but i know its just silly to think wed stop playing crayola.

Depends on your definition of 'well". I get tired of "we'll get a CB via free agency. " - it usually ends up as 3rd tier player. Someone who is gone after a season.

the only other option is a round 1 cb. what im sick of is picking rd 3-5 cbs and hoping we find a gem. It doesnt happen....and with the lions luck the odds of it happening are virtually 0.
