Youre the GM

LKP....would you take the Lions front 7 or the 49ers front 7? (Lions would change to a 3-4)

If San Fran changed to a 4-3, I take the Lions.
If Lions changed to 3-4, I take San Fran because it wastes Suh and Fairley's talent. Justin Smith is perfect for 3-4 and Aldon/Brooks are perfect OLB fits. It wouldn't be because of ILB. Levy and Tulloch would do a good job at ILB. Lions not having a proper 3-4 OLB that fit(Ansah is debatable) would be another concern on top of wasting Suh and Fairley two gapping.

Let me ask you this way. Would you rather have the Lions current front 7 playing a 4-3 here or the 49ers front seven playing a 3-4 here?

Lions. Run D is right there other than 3 hiccup games, 3rd down stop % better in Detroit, pass rush very similar with sacks/hits/hurries. Played different schedules so would need to analyze that on the strength of the opponents pass protection and rushing attacks.

Are the 49ers playing with the Lions healthy or injured Loins secondary(like Ravens/Giants/Vikings game)? Does Houston give up 2 TDs while hurt with San Fran front 7 playing on a play the pass rush doesn't happen to hit home(no team is 100%)? Does Houston still gave up a big play on a double move on a designed roll out? Does San Fran have to play one game in a blizzard? Do the Vikings still have a good punt return inside the 10? Same pick 6s by Stafford to cost them Bucs/Giants game good defensive efforts? Same recovery rates for San Fran on fumbles forced? Do the quick hitters to Brown still beat the Lions secondary? Is Bentley and Quin playing in the second half against Pittsburgh?

just answer the question. I don't want to hear about secondary issues on either team, etc. Would you rather have the Lions current front 7 playing in a 4-3 or move the 49ers front 7 to Detroit playing their 3-4?

Lets see.

SF with three NFC championship games in a row, and one SB appearance.
Lions with one playoff loss and two wasted seasons.

Any question who has the better players?
