#16 Michigan @ #7 Penn State

No one thinks it's all sunshine, lollipops, and roses.

Get what? How I?m tired of Michigan losing ? We were sold a bill of goods this year. They are 5-2 out of the big ten race and all of you guys think it?s all Sunshine lollipops and roses. If any other coach had had 5 years like this they would be calling for his head. We all should have known having a 4th oc in four years would be a issue. I get it just fine but what is wrong with getting younger players a bigger role ? What is wrong with getting them more experience? Maybe some of them are better? It?s my opinion some younger players should play. Let?s see what we have?

The board has been explaining it to you for about 10 pages now. You simply don't want to hear it.

The coaches see them every day. We see them for 3 hours, once a week. I think they have a better handle than any of us.

that was a baseball bat - symbolic of his analogy about a baseball team and how one player who doesn't carry his weight can ruin it for everyone. I guess Capone had a little bo in him, it was all about "the team, the team, the team." I'm surprised a big baseball fan like yourself didn't remember that.

Of course I remember that scene: ?Individual achievement? ?Part. Of a. Team.? (Looks at the bat, clubs the guy once, waits, then several more times) I was suggesting a similar response with a lead pipe. Animals are more resistant.

Again that is just untrue. I hear all of you . I Hope Patterson clobbers Norte Dame but if we don?t maybe we should get the younger guys some reps. Programs do it all the Time.

The only other way I can put it to you is like this. Michigan likes to refer to each year as Team #XXX. Right? I have no idea what the number is, hence the X's. If the current year is Team #XXX, it wants to accomplish it's goals to the greatest extent possible. We can agree on that, right?

You are suggesting that Team #XXX should sacrifice itself for the potential betterment of Team #XXX + 1. Why would/should Team #XXX do that? So you can potentially have more fun next year?

Every coach of every team says, "Let's get the backups in when possible to get them reps."

What you are saying is, "Put the backups in at the expense of the better players and the team."

Now, if you disagree with my characterization and you say you agree with statement #1, then we are in agreement. Either way, I'm done with this conversation.
