The Tigers bonus pool is $12,414,800 (assuming all top ten draftees sign), meaning they can spend up to $13,035,540 without facing draft pick penalties and only pay a 75% penalty on every dollar over the pool limit.

With the signing of Mize for a reported $7.5 million, the Tigers are now about under slot. But with reported bonuses of $600K for Kody Clemens (signing not official - $150K under slot) and Parker Meadows for $2.5 million (signing not official - $875K over slot), the Tigers would be $575K OVER slot, leaving them just shy of $13 million, meaning they would be paying the luxury tax penalty of 75%, but at this point, would avoid any draft pick compensation penalties.

I really dislike Avila as. GM. He just isn?t very good. Another wasted draft coming up with him at the helm. It?s so frustrating. We see a few guys playing good at Toledo (Clemens) he finally gets called up and goes 0-12. Can the Tigers have anything shining and nice ?
