Picks:
Round: Team(s)
1: Det/LV
2. Det/Ott
3. Det/Phi/Pit
4. Det
5. ---
6. Det/Mtl
7. Det

UFA:
Booth (700k) - don't expect him back, best wishes finding another team. He can still play.
Green (6 mil) - Holland likely will attempt to re-sign him. High chance of leaving.
Coreau (613k) - Likely a 1 year deal under 1 mil. Possibly last chance to make NHL impression. Holland unlikely to look for a better backup in off-season due to higher priorities.

RFA:
Athanasiou (1.387 mil) - Will have to fight hard for raise. Possible trade asset.
Larkin (925k) - Best for club would be a 2-3 year bridge deal. Possible long term extension with big money.
Mantha (863k) - Similar position to Larkin but weaker.
Bertuzzi (661k) - Likely a short term bridge deal. My guess in 1.5-2.5 mil range
Frk (650k) - Likely a short deal around 1 million. Possible trade asset. Skating needs to improve.

Key Prospects:
Svechnikov - Its time for NHL full-time.
Rassmusen - Likely to get a real good look on starting season with Detroit.
Hronek - Small chance but could push for a spot on the weak Wings D. Did well offensively in AHL with 39 points in 67 games
Cholowski - Unlikely to make roster out of camp but he has potential. Depends on offseason and camp.
Sulak - Likely to spend the year in AHL, but has several years pro experience in Europe.

I really hope Detroit dump Cholowski, if he makes team it will make it unbearable for me.

So Detroit is picking

6 - Detroit
30 - Vegas (Tatar trade)
33 - Ottawa via NYR (Smith trade)
36 - Detroit
67 - Detroit
81 - Philadelphia (Mrazek trade)
84 - Pittsburgh (Sheahan trade)
98 - Detroit

That sums of Detroit's drafting positions within the top 100.

Wings have until early afternoon Monday to qualify Martin Frk.

Seems unlikely he will receive a qualifying offer meaning he will become a UFA. His skating and compete level is on the low side for the NHL. Yes he has that shot (just like Pulkkinen) but the accuracy just ain't there.

Likely signifying the Wings prefer open up a roster stop for one of the younger guys like Svechnikov or Rasmussen. Which let's be honest, will be an improvement over Frk who is a bit 1 dimensional.

Biggest thing he needs to work on is skating. Nosek had same issue, but he worked on it and improved drastically.

Likely no extra pick for Mrazek, not qualified. Still a small chance he might sign as UFA, but he didn't play well enough to warrant a 4 million contract.

Probably gonna sign a 1-year, 1-2 million deal as a backup somewhere.

Not sure what would be good for Bertuzzi but with his limited time in the NHL 1.4 is plenty. I like Frk, hope he has a monster year. But it looks like we drafted a much better version of him..

Yea given the low amount of time he's been in the NHL makes sense for a low value bridge deal. At least for once Detroit exploiting an ELC situation.

Robbie Russo traded to Arizona for a conditional 7th round pick in 2019.

Russo (d) played 19 games for the Wings during the 2016-17 season. Apart from that spent all of last 3 seasons with the Griffins putting good numbers.

Think he won AHL defenceman of the year during that time as well. Guess it wasn't enough to get a call up this season and with the backlog of defensive prospects coming up he is the odd man out.

My great uncle, a Griffins season ticket holder, was really pissed about this one.

My mistake, he won rookie of year, not defenseman of the year.

Yea Russo was great at the AHL level. Hopefully Arizona has some glorious opportunity for him and he can prove Kenny wrong.

Montreal has interest in XO.

Detroit potentially has interest in Bernier.

Both from TSN rumour mill.
