2022 Off-Season

So Devante Adams was the highest paid WR for all of a week.
30 million per is crazy.

I?m just curious as to how these deals will be structured and re-structured over time. Giving up high end picks and having these monster cap hits seems like a recipe for disaster in 3-5 years, can only kick the can down the road for so long.

Another opportunity missed by the Lions. Let?s just keep re-signing bums from a 3-win team and see where that gets us.

He signed a 4 year $120M extension that kicks in when he is 29 years old. His speed is the only thing that makes him elite. If he is like most WRs in the NFL, he should start to slow down before the extension kicks in. This was a stupid move by Miami and a really good move by KC

Like I said, I guess we should just keep re-signing bums from a 3-win team. Everyone else demands too much money. Lol

Blowing money on players in the middle of their prime with a 3-win roster is a good way to enter the cycle of mediocrity - where the team doesn?t have much cap freedom, isn?t good enough to win in the playoffs, but isn?t bad enough to get top draft picks. I feel like we?ve seen that before.

Lions need to draft well, consistently, it?s the only path to success with this franchise.

Dalton is right. it's likely Hill has already peaked let someone else waste all the $ and besides we still have goof, why spend a shit ton on a close to peak WR when we still don't have a QB

So your ideas have been.....Bobby Wagner, Honey Badger and Tyreek Hill. All guys who are considered old for their positions and who are still demanding giant contracts.....would have had to give up 1st and 2nd round picks for Hill as well....and you think this is the best idea for a 3 win organization?

LOL. Genius!!

My first choice was Marcus Williams. Just to clear that one up.

I want players that can help this team win games NOW. I?m not sure about you, but being in ?re-build? and being losers every year is getting old to me. Keep doing what we?re doing this off-season and Holmes/Campbell will be gone in 2yrs. Then what, start over again? I?m tired of that trend.

Im super excited for this years' draft....that said im always excited for the draft as a lions fan and have been let down repeatedly.

I personally love what Holmes' has done so far this off season. Not a ton of FAs but i think solid contributors on really good deals.

The 2 DTs irked me last year...but overall a good, smart draft that addressed value and need.

We still have a lot of holes to fill so i think we see a lot of starters come out of this draft or else we're going to be in trouble.

We get some young studs at edge and MLB and this defense can look drastically different. Imagine if Okudah does something one of these years!

I like it too if we?re trying to repeat a 3-win season?

Hand didn't play (injury of course) and Williams a FA. Those DTs were smart picks. McNeil did well, let's see if Levi can grow. Especially now that we move to 4-3 and they can play 3-4 or 4-3 both of those DTs/3-4 DEs.

prove it year for Hockenson who is a of now just another often injured top 10 pick that plays average when he is on the field.

I?d be looking to trade him for draft capital right now. I?d much rather move on now than pay him top 3-5 TE money.

They got to decide on 5th year option in May

11th in receiving grade out of 70. He's borderline top 10 receiver. Even while playing hurt. His run blocking was atrocious this year and I'm hoping that was injury related. Got to figure out his blocking to get paid

We'll see if creative Ben Johnson can take some more shots down the field with him too.

He will easily have his most productive year of his career this season if he plays 14+ games. With the addition of Chark and the emergence of St Brown, teams won't be able to focus just on TJ. He will be a top 5 TE this year.

I doubt he will be top 5.

If everyone is healthy, I don't see him having better seasons than any of these 5

Tyreke to the Dolphins for a 1st, 2nd, 4th + ?23 4th and 6th. Also getting a 4 yr, 120 Mil extension.

Absolutely want the Lions to draft a WR at 32 or 34. These price tags are ridiculous, would rather have someone on a rookie contract.

Chiefs just gave MVS 3 yrs $30 Mil.

Ideally would like to see the Lions trade out of 2, otherwise just hope and pray a good WR falls to 32.

Would you swap pick 2 for 9 for DK Metcalf. And how much would you pay Metcalf. 20 per? 25 per?
Lions would have pick 9, 32, 34 and 66 could all be defense. Or pick 32 could be qb and dump goff in 2023 for even more room 63 millio in space for metcalf deal
