Speaking of the draft...the Lions need to re-build their RB room. Swift should be on the roster next season and then say goodbye. No way you offer him his 5th year or extend him.

Agree due to Swift's lack of health. One more cheap year in 2023. Jamaal Williams is a FA and Reynolds on IR now and will be replaced. Another 2nd or 3rd round RB coming up at some point. Maybe they wait a year since they have Swift one more year but then need a FA vet RB. Decent FA RB class and hopefully not expensive.
If I ran a team, I would probably draft a 3rd or 4th round RB almost every year. Continue to fill the room with cheap/young RBs and never sign them to a second contract.
Lions do have two 2nd round picks and the early 3rd to get a 4 year cheap RB that could split time with Swift to start. Depends on what they do in FA on defense/QB and Round 1 too.

Barkley will be tagged but Miles Sanders, Rashaad Penny, Kareem Hunt (older now though), Mostert, Foreman D'Ernest Johnson, Darrel Henderson, Montgomery, Devin Singletary would be intriguing and cheaper if they all hit the market. Sanders will be costly though I think.
Breida, Jeff Wilson, Jamaal Williams back, Sony Michel, Ronald Jones, our boy Ammer Abdullah (KR) the super cheap options.
If don't want to use a day 2 pick on a RB, FA is actually an option this year at the right price.
If the draft were tomorrow, Detroit would have the Ram's 8th overall pick, and their own 11th pick. Pretty crazy that the Rams pick could be higher than Detroit's own.
What it means is that you've got the resources you need to move up in the draft if you grade one of the QBs as a must have franchise can't miss QB.
Hopefully the Rams lose out and you get a top 5 pick from them.
Cooper Kupp having surgery for the Rams, going to miss at least a month. The Rams lose a couple more games and they could just kind of shut it down for the season to try to get guys back healthy for 2023. Imagine we get the #1 pick...from the Rams.
That would be funny. If that were to happen, the Lions would be smart to trade that #1 overall pick. The kind of haul they could get for the #1 overall pick...multiple first rounders.

even better...imagine having the #1 and #2 overall picks! lmao
Defense could get Will Anderson and Jalen Carter.
That would be awesome. Do you consider them better prospects/BPA over all the QBs. I think I might
Will Anderson im starting to get a little Hutchinson vibes to be honest. Hes regarded as the best edge rusher in the class but he can go invisible for long stretches and has those long strides like hutchinson instead of the quicker short bursts. Im not saying thats a bad thing or deal breaker...i just dont think he will have that consistent pressure in the NFL.
Jalen Carter is hands down better than any DT on our roster.
I do think we need a plan at QB. The talent at the top may be too hard to pass up going into a year when youre going to owe Goff $30mil.
I know notoriously you dont take Ohio State QBs....but Stroud is just a different mold than all of those previous guys.
Hendon Hooker is probably 1a on my QB list. Hes not a true dual threat...probably only runs a 4.7. He can be an effective runner and simply has Jared Allen kind of arm strength. He can be Jared Allen imo if developed correctly. Alot of upside....hes an older 5th year senior and a lot of ppl will ask why there wasnt similar production at his previous school which may be reasons he doesnt go in the top 5 for some draft boards,
Bryce Young you simply just cant explain...he just gets it done. Ive watched him while he was at Matre Dei here in Socal. Hes short....hes fast but not that fast. He just makes good decisions. My comparison is probably Seahawks Russel Wilson. Hes probably 3rd on my list.
Will Levis is like the opposite of Bryce Young. Will Levis looks the part. Makes terrible decisions. Has a lot of great games and a lot of terrible games. Teams will fall in love with him becuase theyll want the chance to mold him. For me hes the last option you take if the other 3 are gone.

I was not aware of Jared Allen's arm strength. I mean, he used to flex after his stupid "roping the calf" sack dance but they never showed any video of him throwing the ball.
Would be great to get a QB who can rush the passer.
Jared Allen would league the lead in picks
Wait so does Josh Allen with 10 picks. The narrative has been set on him that he is good forever though
