6.7 mil in cap room

Here's my offseason plan:

Whatever Mayhew ends up doing because that's the only thing that matters. Even it means Reggie Bush with money that is not yours, speed WR or even a Tight End in Round 2. Maybe he takes an injury risk as well. Maybe he takes a guy you don't want in Round 1 like Dion Jordan or Jarvis Jones or Bjoern Werner.

Mayhew's moves will be awesome and we will make the playoffs despite complaints at the time of the moves. Mayhew will win GM of the year and alot of people will crawl away from here with their tail between their legs.

And there are plenty of ways to create more cap space.

We get it. Mayhew is God. He will smite the unbelievers.

Reggie Bush? Who the hell in this day and age spends their FA budget on a complementary piece? This kind of FA target is for teams like the Falcons, Pack, Pats, etc. who have a foundation in place. Especially now where UDFA RBs produce as well as starters (we have one on our own fucking team that does this). This is some Millenesque shit, which makes me know this guy has no clue.

Bush has over 520 touches the last two years and missed one game. He is MUCH more than a complimentary piece.

Myself and almost every "expert" think he fits this offense to a T......but I'm sure you know more.

He is a complementary piece when you have 5 starters signed on defense toolbox.

How would having X amount of starters signed effect his "status" as a complimentary piece or not??

Oh, it doesn't, he isn't, and you're an idiot!!!

Got it.

:D

I actually wouldn't mind seeing bush in our offense. but like you said whats the cost going to be. if we end up with only 6 mil in cap space do you spend 5 of it on him?....I wouldn't think so. If we end up with more cause of more cuts and a staff restructure...then sure...I wouldn't mind seeing him. Im a big kruger fan....I just don't think we'll be able to outbid anyone for him. Gamble and Houston would be a huge boost to our seconday. I think we have to get atleast 1 cb in FA. The other we can draft in rd 1 or rd 2. Safety were going to be hurting at :/

In the end mayhews idea of being "players" in FA is going to equal bringing Larod Stephens Howling in lol.

Your hate for Mayhew makes you delusional as well i see. I think you need to see someone and talk this shit through, bud. Reports came from the MEDIA that the Lions were interested in Bush in a big way. If they swing and miss on a deal with him, reports are that they will be going in another direction. Howling was one of a few RBs mentioned in that report. In no way did Mayhew come out and say Howling was a "player" they were targeting. He was actually mentioned as a secondary option. He hasn't said shit about who they're targeting. It's all speculation from the NFL guys around the league. Which isn't hard when they all know which pieces most NFL teams are targeting anyways.

Try to focus, bro...please.

check my first post in "your lions offseason". I said we would sign LSH 2 months ago. WHy?....cause we have no money and an all-purpose back is a need. I didn't say it cause other people are....milve, twentyman, anwar ghadafi or whatever his name is.....theyre all morons. We have 6 million dollars in cap space....were not getting shit in FA unless Stafford bends over and takes it up the rear for a couple years. I like a lot of the players u like too. but are we getting gamble with 6 mil? nope. cant even get half of kruger for 6 mil. bush we can get and then we will have 1 mil left to sign the other 5 players we need on defense lol. mayhew has turned this team into a shitshow. a 4 win team in cap trouble? lmao! 4 wins! CAP TROUBLE?!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

But according to SOME of you guys, our RB situation is fn dogshit, remember? Leshoure is a joke, Best has jello for brains and Bell is ummmm Bell? Complimentary piece?? My ass it is..

If they can't get that All-Pro defense player in FA (which nobody rarely does), then why not go after one of the best FA RBs available? He fits the scheme to a fn T and he may be cheaper than we think.

You fn guys whine and moan about the RB situation, right? It's starting to look like some of these defensive players are coming back from the sounds of it. Delmas and Houston to follow IMO. Nothing to write home about, but they know the system, the team and are comfortable in Detroit. Work on the rest of the D via the draft, no?

Idk...i'm running off at the mouth again..lol.

Stafford will restucture. If he wants to try and win, he'll do it. He has no choice.

Gotta have faith...

We sign a RB who is meant to touch the ball 15 times a game (unless you have given up on Leshoure, and Reggie is supposed to permanently bench him, and if you have, welcome to the club) who is by all reports going to command significant money (especially to come to a 4-12 team located in Detroit), instead of fixing the root of the problem which SOME of you guys (including me since Lomas Brown retired) have been complaining about, our last ranked run blocking oline. One major step would be signing a pro bowl guard in Levitre who will command the same salary as Bush, and maybe your next second round bust (Leshoure) can make SOME of you guys look stupid (me again). So I would consider a journeyman receiving back playing a quarter of the plays who has never sniffed a pro bowl a complementary piece compared to a road grading guard who plays 100% of he plays and actually addresses a full time always had need. But we need to sell tickets and we already drafted a guard in the first round last year, except he was supposed to be a left tackle. Lol.

Or if he wants out or a major payday he'll tell them to stuff it. Which I'm sure his agent already has or it would have happend by now.

Not sure what's funny about Reiff getting moved over to Guard. What's your deal with it? If he's better suited at Guard then fn embrace it.

As for Reggie coming here. He might be cheaper than you think. He's had injuries in the past, no probowls and has been a little bit better than average his whole career. I have a feeling he comes cheaper than most. We need a RB to go with Leshoure because Leshoure is a bruiser and Bush can step in and become that Javhid Best type player. What Mayhew intended in the first place when he wanted that Leshoure/Best combo.

Or you go with Levitre and you have the same RB situation as last year. I'm fine with either.

Never happens. Detroit has given Stafford the key to the fn city...he stays 100%

"The money involved in those talks are significant".

I've already resigned myself to the fact we are going to overpay for the guy. Blowing the FA budget after drafting a rb in the first and second rounds in consecutive years is Mayhew's MO.

"Or you go with Levitre and you have the same RB situation as last year. I'm fine with either."

Or we could Draft a RB. Lord knows the guy is not adverse to that.
