AL Central Watch

Through 119 games, Tigers have been in first place 24 days -- and only four days after May 1st.

Tigers can't capitalize on a Royals win over the White Sox, still 1.5 back

Updated

Surprise f'n surprise...the Royals sweep the White Sox and the Tigers manage to gain 1 whole friggin game.

The Tigers get another chance (hopefully) with the White Sox playing the Yankees this week. But I won't be shocked at all if the Tigers find a way to lose ground.

PS On a side note, and relatively meaningless, the Royals have taken 3rd place from the Indians

I like the Tiger's schedule compared to the sox. I wonder if Seattle will give King Felix a start against the sox when they play after the yankees series. Seattle has a day off, so if he pitched on his scheduled rest, he would pitch against them. Means they have to face Vargas and Felix.

I am predicting we are 3 up after our series with the sox....probably a bit on the hopeful side, but I'm sticking to it.

Avg Win % of remaining opponents: Tigers .479, White Sox .497, A's .510, Angels .519, Orioles .523, Rays .526.

Wow, Cleveland has gone 9-26 in the second half. This is worse than last season's collapse.

after getting swept by the royals, the white sux go and beat the yanks on our off-day, putting them 2 games up now.

That swept-by-the-Royals White Sox team just swept the Yankees. Tigers remain 2 back.

The Tigers and Twins are the only teams playing tomorrow. The weekend series include
Seattle @ Chicago (Seattle's been playing well lately, hopefully they can do what the Yankees couldn't)
LA Angels @ Detroit
KC @ Boston
NY Yankees @ Cleveland
Minnesota @ Texas

Light day for the schedules

Tigers win, Twins lose

Added potential elimination days

Still at least a week and a half away from any possible elimination

Note: The Tigers' record last year at the 124 game mark was actually one game worse at 66-58. They lost only 9 more games the rest of the season.

Chicago was the only AL Central team to win yesterday.

Everyone but Minnesota won yesterday, Tigers still can't make up any ground

Tigers remain 2.5 back

How about the White Sox stop winning, is that cool? ok

Amazing how immediately after the Sux took the lead the rains came.

Even God is screwing the Tigers over this year.

I hope Chicago's fucking luck runs out soon because this is ridiculous.

The Tigers just need to take care of business next weekend with the White Sox.

Gotta stay close before then first though, KC ain't no walk in the park lately. 4 game Baltimore sweep over the soxs would be really nice here
