It looks like Wilson will be getting a little over $15m a year.....JV is at $20M

I was looking at Jv's contract 5 for 79.5 so its pretty close.

What is funny though is Wilson would of actually been paid more then both Verlander and Jared Weaver if he would of accepted the Marlins offer. And to add to that out of the 10 pitchers that finished in the top 5 in both leagues in Cy Young voting this year he would of been paid more then all but 2 (CC Sabathia - 5 years/$122M and Cliff Lee - 5 years/$120M).

Now THAT would of made for some serious discussion if he would of indeed accepted the Marlins offer and been over all those more deserving pitchers.

We should have signed all of them...take out a loan. interest rates are good right now.

You know there is a HUGE imbalance in MLB baseball when the Angels sign Wilson & Pujols for $327.5M in a matter of an hour and Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Cleveland, Arizona and Florida owed a combined $327.8M to their opening day rosters for 2011.

I like KC team. A lot of nice young players. They could be good soon.

Oh yeah, forgot about him. Well we ain't getting g him, maybe he can play left.

Let's see, teams with 2011 average ticket prices under $20:

COL $19.50

TBR $19.42

ATL $19.38

FLA $19.06

KCR $18.95

TEX $18.60

CLE $18.49

LAA $17.13

ARZ $15.74

SDP $15.45

PIT $15.30

FLA is moving into a new stadium and the expected average ticket price is going to be about $25. LAA, now that they signed Pujols and Wilson, are certain to raise their ticket prices significantly.

BTW...LAA has averaged 3.22 mil in attendance over the last 3 years (88% capacity). Pujols signing will certainly increase this some.

I used to have season tickets @ the $70 seats, eventually they went to $60 I think, but now I'll just sit in the RF corner wherever I can go cheap. One thing I miss about Tigers stadium the bleachers, seats for 4 bucks.

So the Angels land Albert and CJ Wilson.. That's pretty ridiculous.. The Rangers must be kicking themselves..

I had some good times in the bleachers at the old Tiger Stadium when I was in my early 20's. We'd go to on a sunny Saturday and have our share of beers. Good times.

I know, awesome. In '84 I went to about 40 games. $160 total, sweet deal. And they actually had good 'dogs back then.

Came out late last night or earlyh today, Angels spending all that $$$$ on Pujols and wilson, has alot to do with a 20 year tv contract.
new 20-year TV deal with Fox, takes them from $50M per year to $150M.

Well these signing have made the Tigers chances of winning a world series just got a lot harder.. Man the Angels are going to be tough...

Same was said about the Red Sux last off-season, after they signed AGon and Crawdad...how'd that turn out?

heh!!

Not saying that the Halos haven't greatly improved as a team, and being far more likely to rip the ALWD title away from the Rangers' mitts, but Pooholes, like Cabrera in '08 and AGon in '11, is coming to the AL from the NL, and it may (or may not) take a few months or so, for him to adjust.

At any rate, I am not going to go ahead and predict that ala the preseason '08 Tigers with Willis and Miggy, that the Halos with Wilson and Pooholes are also going to score ~1000 runs, while running away with their division just yet.
