Ansah injury

Sacks are great, no doubt but this team tends to play better defensively at the right time for the most part. I'll take that for now. The sacks will come...

5-3, gentlemen .....5-3.

Hopefully, Lions need Fairley to get back to week 1 form. Injured his shoulder in week 1 and hasn't looked good since then. Hopefully the week of did him some good. I know it did for me...

Theres individual players about to pass our team sack total lmao...its pathedic.

I agree 100%.

I hear sacks will come, we just need to play better defense at the right time...yet if we could sack a QB now and again maybe we get that "better" defense at the right time.

I'm pleasantly surprised we're 5-3 but a playoff appearance by itself isn't good enough. We need to start winning games when we get to the playoffs and I'm not sure this team has enough defense to get those wins.

imagine not getting to drew brees in the playoffs this year lmao.

not horrible...

R. Griffin 32/50 326
J. Cutler 27/47 317
A. Rodgers 20/30 274 sacked once
A. Dalton 24/34 372

Griffin - no TDs, 1 INT, 1 F
Cutler - 2 TDs, 3 INT, 1 F
Rodgers - 1 TD

try again..lol. i knew you would leave out picks and fumbles. you're too easy

Then you better disrupt him and get in his face. That works too. If you have a fn team that lives and dies by the sack, you're fucked anyways. Lions can do other things too you know

weve been talking about the pass defense being ranked 26th in the league for 2 pages now.....that is based on yards allowed. Soooooo I put yards that they threw against us. If you think were ranked 26th in pass defense only cause andy Dalton had 1 good game against us.....there is something seriously wrong with you. weve played 8 games.....half the year....were 26th in yards allowed cause we suck at pass defense in almost every game were in. not just games vs andy Dalton.

If you cant sack the quarterback then you better be locked down on coverage....not that I want to start an entire other debate.....but we suck at secondary coverage too. Houston is finally starting to play ...but he was awful earlier in the year. Slay has been benched more often than broyles injures himself. Mathis is a has-been. Safety play has been horrid since the bears game. 2 huge plays given up in the dallas game cause neither safety can tackle and both were super duper late. The only decent unit in pass D has been the linebackers, which is sad cause going into the season they were the weakest on paper.

Thats fine...put yards in there. All im saying is that not every QB has torched us. You're mentally unstable if you think they have. Look at the picks/ fumbles and TDs. Somehow the Lions have been solid in other areas. We have a dogshit secondary, thats why the yardage is there. I dont fully know how they're keeping guys out of the endzone in crucial times but ill take it.

What are we ranked overall as a defense? That ranking means more.......

25th in yards per game
26th in passing yards per game
13th in rushing yards per game
18th in points allowed per game
tied for 12th in takeaways
32nd in sacks
30th in yards lost due to sacks

overall.....I would say they rank somewhere in the 18-22 range. Not good!

Hughes...just saying...CJ gets dogged nationally in a record-breaking WR yardage year for getting garbage time yards. By your logic, RGIII and Cutler get free passes since their yardage came in garbage time? Yardage is subjective that way IMO.

As stated earlier, I agree with the opinion PPG is a more accurate gauge for defenses. That said, barely being in the Top 20 of a 32-team league is not ideal for PPG allowed.

We might all have different ideas on if sacks are important but being 32nd of 32 teams in any stat blows. I'll take the wins but I just hope it translate well in getting a post season win.

6-3 defense came up big at crucial times

Fucking shut it!!! Wooooooooooooooooooo!!

As usual you haven't a clue. Its called discussion, if you don't want to partake I'd advise you exit stage left.

They stopped the run and put pressure on the qb. Good game by the dline. The secondary still needs to play better.

Fortunately Cutler sucked. Too many guys wide open.

Don't disagree. But they moved Cutler and hit him a lot which was good to see. The secondary has really been pretty poor but have made enough plays to keep us in games. I just hate seeing them get turned around.
