Have they ever looked weirder?

I don't know, the only one that is particularly out of place is UM, and it's been years since UM has actually been all that good anyway. Sparty on top isn't exactly out of place for the last 5 years or so. OSU at 3 is a little lower than normal, but normal is 1 or 2 anyway. Nebraska is looking better than it has since joining the B1G, but was pretty good before then. Everyone else is pretty mediocre which is kind of where you expect them.

Well, I don't know about that. Nebraska is still a relative newcomer and Rutgers and Maryland are flippin' virgins. Who in the world expected them to come in and be more powerful than the Leaders and Best?

Nebraska was a once dominant program in the 90s, much like michigan. michigan, psu, and Nebraska are all very similar programs. They were once great and had legendary coaches, but the game passed them by.

Nebraska was a powerhouse in the 1990s. I remember going in 1994 to MSU Vs Nebraska and that was my first time seeing a dominant football team in person.

My first msu game as a student as well, not a great outcome. that was back when they had tommy frazier, lawrence Phillips, and Ahman green.

Nebraska had fallen on pretty hard times after the mid/late 90s. Other than winning the very weak Big 12 north, they hadn't done anything in years. They were pretty bad when they joined the B1G. And I was at both games in that home-and-home series. For the game at MSU, green was a freshman and I don't think he even saw the field, unless it was in garbage time. But he definitely made us look bad the following year - just as bad as Phillips made us look the year before when he beat the piss out of us then went home and beat the piss out of his girlfriend that same night.

and these do look pretty weird - Maryland and Minnesota in the top half and ahead of Michigan, PSU and Iowa. Saying this doesn't look weird is taking a very short-sighted view of B1G football. It may look weird if you were born in the mid 90s and know nothing about the history or tradition of college football, let alone the B1G. I was thinking more of the top, if you've paid attention for the last decade it's no surprise to see Michigan, Iowa, and PSU down. As for Maryland, it's weird to see them in the big ten in the first place but they're here unfortunately. I guess if you're going off of recent history it's odd to not see OSU as #1, at this point in the season i'd say they'd have the top spot 8 of 10 years

that's a pretty big misread of my post. You don't have to have missed most of the last 30 years to think this looks weird. Quite the opposite - if you don't think this looks weird then all you know about B1G and college football is what happened in the last 5 years.

Why do you even post on any of these boards? Are you a masochist?

As a person who grew up in Michigan, I can tell you that 9 out of 10 people in Michigan/from Michigan who aren't necessarily Michigan fans still want Michigan to beat OSU every year.

pretty sure every Michigan fan roots for Sparty to beat OSU when the two play.

And Notre Dame.
