Bentley ACL

I dont know why im arguing this....most people on this board have proven they have no concept of what value or production is.

mayhews definition of value is using 2 picks on tahir whitehead so he can come into a game after 3 years and be invisible as a back up olb. nice job mayhew.

You have nothing so you constantly revert back to the Whitehead pick. We lost a 4th?? lmfao. Tragic!!! lol. Whitehead is a ST beast and solid backup. Solid value for a mid rd pick. Keep whining...

I have nothing? Our luxury picks have been:

Broyles - year 3. has done nothing. Is healthy this year and thusfar has the stat line of:

week 1 : Inactive

Leshoure - canned...sucked when he wasn't canned.

Ebron - Ill give the guy time....im not trying to kill the guy or anything. But he hasn't been a very big part of the offense for whatever the reason. Even in situations I thought theyd want to use him they don't even put him out on a route or look his way for even a second. A top 10 TE is almost unheard of. When you have 2 other TEs on the roster that get playing time...that is the definition of a luxury pick.

aka we don't get much value or production from our "luxury" picks.

GB got a franchise qb, multiple division titles and a super bowl...ted Thompson sucks.

Talking about Rodgers, you fn retard. Dance around it though...lol. So pathetic.

the rest of us were talking about when Rodgers was drafted. When Rodgers was drafted they had a HOF qb on their team winning super bowls. Sorry, I know youre slow....I should have spelled it out for you. Try to keep up next time.

If we won the Super Bowl I will never complain about anything ever again. Hell go kicker in the first I don't care, go kicker punter back to back, whatever. Luxury picks all around. 2 QBs, 3 TEs...oh wait.

This is the point.....win and you can do whatever the fuck you want and I cant say shit. Mayhew has been part of us losing for over a decade. He hasn't changed that perception one bit. Anytime anyone outside of our organization brings up perennial losers its us and Cleveland at the top of the list....always. When you have holes everywhere across your team you shouldn't be blowing picks on broyles, leshoure, trading up for the whiteheads of the world, trading picks for Thomas just so you can release him before he even sees the field. These are all very stupid things that sets the team back when youre trying to rebuild. hence were ALWAYS trying to rebuild. IF ebron doesn't produce....he just gets tossed into the ever growing pile of "luxury" trash that mayhew drafts and they never pan out. Im not even talking about guys we actually did need (titus) and they didn't work out....these are all guys we DIDNT need, and they still didn't pan out lol.

"Ness' promotion means the Lions will have four safeties on the roster Sunday - Glover Quin, Isa Abdul-Quddus, Jerome Couplin and Ness"

What a walking trash pile that list is lol.

I know, you idiot lol. You called Rodgers value when they already had a HOF QB on the roster? You're so full of shit, your eyes are brown. You would crucify that pick if the shoe was on the other foot, but since you're a closet Packers fan, it was considered " value". lmfao...you're a joke.

You're not a closet Packers fan Hughes, but you're as much of a hater as LKP is a homer.

No doubt in my mind, if the Lions had a HOF QB and drafted a young QB in the first round, you'd be calling for Mayhew's head. It's like you think teams only develop talent when it's another team.

If the Lions draft a kid that rides the pine for a year, it's almost criminal.

Hell, when they drafted Rieff you were vocal against the move, and he actually played some fullback that year. He was in the game, and helping to be productive. Forget that he played pretty damned well last year at LT, I've heard you make comments RECENTLY about the year he didn't play.

How is that any different? The Lions had Backus coming off what should have been a ProBowl season, drafted Rieff to groom, and you tore the team up for it. A year later Backus pulls a surprise retirement and now Rieff is playing.

Clearly they didn't draft him to be a day one starter, and Green Bay didn't draft Rodgers to be a day one starter. Rieff was more productive his rookie year than Rodgers was, by far, but you hate one pick to be groomed, and love another.

and im telling you id be a homer if we were perennial playoff contenders with frequent trips to the super bowl. They could take all the jahvid best, ryan broyles, mikel leshoure crap they wanted if they were winning. That's EXACTLY the time to take luxury picks for your future...when youre team is stacked already and you don't have many needs.

Reiff pick I loved.....at the time. Why? cause im all about VALUE! and drafting a projecting top 10 LT where we got him is great VALUE!!! But then Schwartz and mayhew were fucking idiots for playing gosder cherilus over him....and totally killed his VALUE because he didn't produce. THATS the problem I had with the pick....we didn't use him. Not cause of who we picked....but our management team was too dumb to use him. Which is totally different than arods situation because the guy infront of him added MORE VALUE than arod did at the time. Gosder fucking Cherilus added nothing. Evidenced by the fact we didn't offer him a dime once his contract was up....yet we still decided to play Reiff at FB all year....fucking brilliant.

Ive never talked poor about Reiff as a player.....and ive commented positively on the entire oline last year....I actually use it as a reason why Stafford sucked so bad. He shouldn't suck that bad when the line plays that well.

As far as your example goes if we had a HOF qb that would mean we were winning meaningful games...a lot of them. Which means our team would already look a lot different than it does now...cause we don't win a lot of meaningful games....ever. SOOOOooo if we ever get to a point where were winning a lot of meaningful games....they could draft 3 back up qbs for all I fucking care lol.

Mayhew continues to evaluate his team poorly over and over and over again. He even admits in public that he evaluates his team poorly and you guys still stick up for him lol. This is the dumbest argument ever. You guys are REALLY trying to argue that martin fucking shitty mayhew is as good of a GM as ted Thompson....who wins all the fucking time and we lose all the fucking time. ur all nuts lol....

It's not fair at all to compare the Aaron Rodgers draft pick to the Ebron pick. Brett Favre was like 35-36 years old when Rodgers was chosen. Green Bay knew they would need a guy who would take a year or so of grooming before he was ready. That happens sometimes when you draft a 1st round QB and there's an incumbent already on the team.

Eric Ebron is a tight end. Tight ends are NEVER taken in the top 10. And if they are, you darn sure expect them to make a pretty quick impact, because it is a position of luxury. I'm not saying day 1 impact, but you need to see something this season. Ebron's not being groomed to take over Pettigrew/Fauria's spot.

If a QB is taken in the 1st round when Matt Stafford is 33-35 years old, you will not hear a peep of complaint out of me. That's what happens when your guy gets old and will eventually hand the reigns over to someone.

1. When Farve wasn't texting dick pics to reporters he was texting his retirement plans to them.

2. ARod was supposed to be in play for first overall and they picked him in the 20s

3. They were division champions.

1. We resigned Pettigrew to top TE salary and have a move TE in his second year who caught 7 TDs.

2. Teams in the teens and twenties were talking about picking Ebron, 10 wasn't too high but no way was that the consensus

3. We pissed away the division because we couldn't close out games (secondary) and because Stafford's mechanics broke down every time he was pressured (OT).
