Let me sum up this conversation for everyone:
If the Lions Lose-
Lions Pessimist: "We lost because this team sucks, our management is a bunch of idiots, and we will never get any better. We can't draft, we can't coach, we can't play."
Lions Optimist: "We lost because there were mitigating factors here. Critical injuries played a part in this, the talent is not bad they just made some bad decisions. In a perfect world, this team was capable of winning, and this loss should not be viewed as a reflection of future performance."
Lions Realist: "There is another game next Sunday."
If the Lions Win-
Lions Pessimist: "We won this game by the slimmest of margins. It's proof we can't score, can't stop another team from scoring, and can't coach. Our drafts have sucked or this would have been a blowout. We will lose next week against (fill in the team)."
Lions Optimist: "We won because we are a damned good team with a lot of young talent that is finally learning to play together. It doesn't matter what the final score was, the only thing that matters is the W column. We should easily make the playoffs this season, and the NFC Championship game is not entirely out of reach. Next weekend we will crush (fill in the team)."
Lions Realist: "There is another game next week."
Same story in every thread around here.
