Burleson breaks arm in car accident

When you think about, if the guy can't even catch a falling piece of pizza without wrecking his car, how good of a reciever could he really be?

Bam..

I expect the "event" was over sooner and he decided to stay until they closed up.

Good enough to lead the team in receptions thru 3 games. Why even talk shit about Burleson? The Lions are down a receiver going into an extremely important game against Chicago. Why havent any moves been made at wr? Gonna start Durham as the #2 receiver? Thats great. Fuckin Durham

Tony Scheffler - TE - Lions The Detroit News expects Tony Scheffler's role to grow in the wake of Nate Burleson's injury.
Scheffler is move tight end that has seen just three targets in three games this season. But in the 10 games following Burleson's broken leg last season, Scheffler averaged 3.1 catches for 35.8 yards and scored one touchdown. Similar production is within reach this time around. Ryan Broyles - WR - Lions According to the Detroit News, "there will be no leash" on Ryan Broyles (knees) this week.
Broyles was on a pitch count in Week 3 as he made his season debut, seeing just 17 snaps. But with Nate Burleson (arm) out and Patrick Edwards (ankle) in doubt, the Lions can't afford any kind of snap limitations against the Bears Sunday. Barring any setbacks, Broyles is going to play in all three-wide sets as the slot receiver -- giving him plenty of PPR upside. "I am definitely ready. I feel good," he said. Still down a receiver, Scheffler at wr doesnt sound any better than Durham at wr in all honesty.

Report: Lions trying to trade for a receiver Sources tell the Lions' official site that the team has talked with "multiple teams this morning" about trading for a receiver.
With Nate Burleson (arm) out indefinitely, Ryan Broyles' knees shaky and Patrick Edwards' (ankle) status unknown, the Lions are very thin at wide receiver. Josh Gordon and Greg Little are both reportedly being shopped and are possible trade candidates. Contract-year WR Kenny Britt has been phased out of the Titans offense and could also be available. Even if Broyles' knees hold up and he seizes the slot position, the Lions will need an outside receiver. Source: Tim Twentyman on Twitter Sep 24 - 11:36 AM

Scheffler was a wasted trade, even though we gave up shit for him. I thought he'd be more involved than this after we got him. I think he's better than 1 target a game.

So what do we trade and who do we cut in the event that we trade picks and not a player(s)?

I don't see them putting Burleson on IR since it sounds like he could come back this season. Who gets cut? Even if we signed Mr. August, that's Matt Willis, we'd still need to cut someone, no?

Durham

I wonder if the Lions can obtain a waiver from the league allowing Durham to use stickem on his hands like the old timers used to.

Given this obviously clinical case of Dropsies Disease, maybe it's covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Mike Thomas - WR - Lions The Detroit News expects GM Martin Mayhew to trade Mikel Leshoure for Mike Thomas. This is a smart move considering Thomas spent last year with Detroit and knows the system. Oh wait...wtf...nevermind...He spent nearly a year there and Detroit's coaches were too dumb to teach him the system. Now Mayhew has traded his rd 2 superstar to get him back on the team. Mayhew is obviously thinking....well....we don't really know what hes thinking. Hes an idiot. Source: Detroit News Sep 25 - 10:16 AMPlayer Outlook
